The report analyzes and evaluates the problem solving options for Windward Investment management firm. It is a successful company that is operating in the RIA industry and had been managing investment portfolios of high net worth individuals as well as few institutional investors. Windward Investment has been growing for the past 10 years and has evolved from a single employee company, Steven Cucchiaro who was the founder of the company to 38 people in head count who have a diverse professional and educational background, unlike the usual RIA firms. Recently the management has seen some red flags that can become a constraint in the company future growth. One of them is that since Windward Investment is following a unique investing strategy, it is not one of the favourites of the consultants as they are hesitant in recommending the company to institutional clients. Secondly, Cucchiaro believes that company's current strategy is not that hard to replicate and very soon larger firms would start offering similar portfolios to the investors hence Windward Investment would lose the competitive edge it had. So the report evaluates the options Windward Investment have at its disposal, analyzes the current situation of the company and then based on those findings a solution is recommended to the problem. The report is divided into six parts; introduction just gives a brief idea about the company's problem and takes about the aim and objectives of the analysis. Then the case brief is portrays a detailed picture of the current situation of the company, its operations, company's management etc. which basically creates a base for the analysis. After this problem is identified in the problem statement portion and the concepts as well as plan of analysis would be discussed. Each alternative would be analyzed based on the constraints as well as the availability of resources. Based on the pros and cons of the alternatives, a solution would be proposed and in the end all the concepts would be applied at another firm in some other organization.
