This research entitled“An Investigation into Family, Types of Marriages and Structure of the Relationship and an Monographic Application Sample in the Village of Kacerdoğanşalı”aimed at determining changes occurring in the family form, marriage and structure of the relationship of a village family in relation to socio-economic changes in an agricultural vilage society. The objective of this work was to analyse the position of the Turkish family sturchure in rural areas with a social anthropological perspective. The main assumption of the study was that family is a social institution and to what extent it is affected by the changes in the social structure. The area including the sample village has shown a rapid socio-economic change during the last few. years. The effects of some visible parameters like population increase, domesic and international immigration, madernization in the agricultural applications and the spreading of the telecommunication means on the family institution in the village stated above were examined in the light of the related theoretical and academic knowledge through the method of area study.
