Özet
Mevcut çalışma, Çam Keseböceği, Thaumetopoea pityocampa türünün beşinci instar evredeki larvalarında immün sistem hücreleri (hemositler)' nin ışık mikroskobu ile belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu sebeple, Çam Keseböceği larvalarının hemolenfinde bulunan hemosit tiplerinin ölçüm ve hesaplanmasında Wright boyasıyla boyanmış yayma preparatlardan yararlanılmıştır. Hemosit tipleri morfolojik olarak ışık mikroskobunda incelenip büyüklükleri ölçülmüştür. Thaumetopoea pityocampa larvalarının hemolenfinde prohemositler, plazmatositler, sferulositler, önositoitler ve granulositler (granular hücreler) olmak üzere beş farklı hemosit tipi tespit edilmiştir. Prohemositlerden kökenlendiği düşünülen diğer hemosit tiplerinin antimikrobiyal savunma mekanizmaları kapsamında fagositik aktivite, melanizasyon/kapsül oluşturma, pıhtı oluşturma ve yara iyileşmesinde önemli rolleri bulunmaktadır.

The present study was conducted in order to determine the immune system cells (hemocytes) in light microscopy in the fifth instar larvae of Pine Processionary, Thaumetopoea pityocampa strain. For this reason, Wright's stain preparates were used in the measurement and evaluation of the hemocyte types in the hemolymph of the Thaumetopoea pityocampa. Hemocyte types were morphologically examined in light microscopy and their size was measured. Five different hemocyte types have been identified in the hemolymph of Thaumetopoea pityocampa larvae. These hemocytes are; prohemocytes, plasmatocytes, granulocytes, sferulocytes and oenocytoids. The scope of antimicrobial defense mechanism of other species which are thought to originate from prohemocytes have been an important role on phagocytic activity, melanisation/formation of capsul and clots, and recovery of wounds.
