Özet
ÖZET Bu tezin amacı, döviz kuru değişmelerinin Türkiye'ye olan turizm talebi üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Döviz kurlarındaki değişmeler, diğer faktörler sabitken, seyahat maliyetini azaltan ya da artıran bir etkendir. Seyahat maliyeti ise turizm talebinde önemli bir rol oynar. Bu bakımdan, döviz kurlarının dış turizm talebini etkileyen bir faktör olarak analiz edilmesi gerekir. Tez üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Tezin birinci bölümünde, önce döviz kuru değişmeleri ile ilgili açıklamalar yapılmış, sonra da döviz kuru değişmeleri ile dış turizm talebi ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Tezin ikinci bölümünde ise plânlı dönemlerde Türkiye'deki döviz kuru değişmeleri ile dış turizm talebindeki gelişmeler üzerinde durulmuştur. Burada, Türkiye'de planlı dönemlerde izlenen kur politikalarının turistik tüketicinin satın alma gücünde yarattığı etkiler analiz edilmiştir. Son bölümde ise planlı dönemlerde döviz kuru değişmelerinin Türkiye'nin dış turizm talebi üzerindeki etkisi konusunda deneysel bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Araştırma, 1967-1992 döneminde Türkiye'ye turist gönderen onaltı ülkeden gelen turist sayısı üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırma çoklu regresyon tekniği kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. II

ABSTRACT The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the effectiveness of the exchange rate changes on the tourism demand to Turkey. As the other factors are constant, the exchange rate changes is a factor that increasing or decreasing the travel cost. Also, the travel cost has an important role on the tourism demand. Therefore, exchange rates must be analyzed as a factor that effect the tourism demand. There are three parts in the thesis. In the first part of the thesis, at first had been explained the subjects which is related to the exchange rate changes, and than has been analyzed the relationship between the exchange rate changes and the foreign tourism demand. In the second part of the thesis; the developments in the exchange rate changes and the foreign tourism demand in Turkey for the planned periods is discussed. Here, analysed that, the effects of the practized exchange rate policies on the purchasing power of the touristic consumers in the planned periods in Turkey. In the last part of the thesis, an experimental research has been made on the effects of exchange rate changes on foreign tourism demand in the planned periods in Turkey. Research has been made on the tourist number that came to Turkey from the sixteen sender countries, between the period, 1967-1992. Multiple regression analysis has been used in the research. Ill
