Özet
Türk Basın Tarihi'nde 19. Yüzyılın ikinci yarısının, çağdaş anlamda basın kuruluşlarının ortaya çıktığı ve geliştiği dönem olduğu görülmektedir. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda ilk muhalif gazeteler bu dönemde yayınlanmıştır. Muhalif yayınları ile dikkat çeken gazeteler arasında 1872 yılında Namık Kemal ve arkadaşlarının yayınladıkları İbret gazetesi ayrı bir önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırma basın tarihi bağlamında İbret gazetesini ele almaktadır. Kamuoyunun yeni oluşmaya başladığı bu yıllarda, İbret gazetesi hürriyet mücadelesinin öncüsü olmuştur. İbret haber vermek görevinin yanında memleketteki sorunlar hakkında topluma bilgi vermiş ve kamuoyunun sözcüsü olmuştur. Meşrutiyet yönetimini benimsemiş ve hürriyet fikrinin toplum tarafından benimsenmesinde rol oynamıştır. İbret gazetesine yayınları sebebiyle iktidar tarafından baskılar uygulanmıştır. Ancak bu baskılara rağmen gazete muhalif çizgisinden vazgeçmemiştir. Namık Kemal'in yayınladığı eleştirel yazılar ve gazetenin yayın politikası, İbret gazetesinin doğrudan muhalefet eden ilk gazete olmasını sağlamıştır. Yayınları nedeniyle gazeteye kapatma cezaları verilmiş, yazarları sürgüne gönderilmiştir. İbret gazetesi özgürlükçü yayınları ile sonraki nesillere örnek teşkil etmiştir.

It is seen that the second half of the 19th century in the Turkish Press History was the period in which the contemporary media organizations emerged and developed. The first opponent newspapers in the Ottoman Empire were published in this period. This research examines the İbret newspaper in the context of the history of journalism. Theİbret newspaper, which was published by Namık Kemal and his colleagues in 1872, has special importance among notable opponent newspapers. In the years when the public opinion has begun to emerge, İbret newspaper has been the pioneer of the freedom struggle. As well as its informative function, İbret also kept informed the public about the problems in the country and became the spokesman of the public. It supported the Constitutional Monarchy and played a role in the society's adoption of the idea of freedom. A pressure was imposed on İbret newspaper by the government due to its publications.However, despite these pressures, the newspaper did not give up its dissenter opinions.Critical writings published by Namık Kemal and the publication policy of the journal made the İbret newspaper the first direct opposition newspaper.The newspaper was given penalties for some of its publishings and its authors were sent to exile. The İbret newspaper has set an example for later generations with its libertarian publishing policy.
