Özet
ÖZET Toplumumuz çevre sorunları konusunda bilinçlendikçe, otoriteler de çevre kirliliği konusuna daha yakın ilgi göstermek durumunda kalmaktadır. Birçok bölgede hava kirliliğinin asıl kaynağı olan endüstriyel tesisler olduğu halde bu tesislerin emisyonları kontrol edilmemektedir. Aynı zamanda bu aktivitelerle, rüzgar ve kirlilik ile ilgili ölçümler yapılmamaktadır. Ülkemizde hava kirliliği önde gelen çevre sorunlarından biridir. Son yıllarda hava kirliliği ölçümleri artsa da, yapılan ölçümler değerlendirilmemekte veya değerlendirilememektedir. İstanbul şehri Türkiyenin en süratli gelişen şehirlerinden biri olup, burada hava kirliliği ile ilgili data toplanması ve değerlendirilmesi, daha büyük hava kirliliği problemleri yaşanmaması açısından önemlidir. Bu tezin amacı Istanbulun endüstriyelleşmiş bir kısmında hava kirliliği verileri toplamak ve toplanan bu verileri bir bilgisayar simülasyonu yardımıyla değerlendirerek, bir kaza anında oluşabilecek hava kirliliği problemlerini önceden tahmin etmektir.

IV ABSTRACT As the public awareness for the environment increases, the authorities are forced to pay closer attention to environmental pollution problems. Although the greater amount of air pollution in some areas is produced by the industrial activities, only little control is exerted on these industrial activities. Also data concerning these activities like wind and pollution measurement are mostly not available. Air pollution is one of the greater pollution types in Turkey. Although in the recent years collection of air pollution data is increasing, the collected data is not or can not be used extensively. Since Istanbul has one of the fastest growing industries in Turkey, collcetion of air pollution data of this industry and using this data to prevent greater air pollution problems is of great importance. The aim of this study is to collect data from a heavily industrialized part of Istanbul and try to forecast the effects of an accidental release of air pollutants into the atmosphere with the help of a computer program using the collected data.
