Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı müzik aracılığıyla istem dışı hatırlanan/zihinde canlanan anılar geleceğe yönelik imajların matematik ders başarısı üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim yılı Karabük ili Safranbolu ilçesine bağlı Ovacuma Ortaokulu 6. ve 7. sınıflarında öğrenim gören toplam 73 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerin beğendikleri müzikler Erten (2011) tarafından geliştirilen Müzik Beğeni Testi, istem dışı biçimde zihne gelen anılar/imajlar ise Eren (2009, 2010) tarafından geliştirilen Zihinsel Zaman Yolculuğu Testi aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca araştırmacı tarafından ön-test ve son-test olarak 6. sınıf Matematik Başarı Testi ve 7. sınıf Matematik Başarı Testi geliştirilmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin bir önceki yıla ait matematik ders notlarına okul idaresi aracılığıyla ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, manipülasyon aracı olarak, müziğin kullanıldığı deney grubunda bulunan öğrencilerin, kontrol grubunda bulunan öğrencilere göre istem dışı anılar/imajların zihinlerinde canlanmasında, müziğin ipucu görevi yaptığı belirlenmiştir. Müziğin bu etkisi, öğrencilerin zihne gelen anı/imajın da olumlu yönde hatırlanmasını sağlamış ve bu durum, zihinlerini dersle ilgili konularda meşgul ederek, matematik ders başarısını artırmada etkili olduğu görülmüştür.

The effects of memories/future imagies that are remembered/imagined via on mathematics course achievent. The experimental group consists of 73 students studying in 6th and 7th grade of Ovacuma Secondary School affiliated to Safranbolu as a district in Karabük Province in 2013-2014 education year. The musical interest of the students was determined through a test, Music Appreciation Test that was developed by Erten (2011), and the involuntary memories/ images in the mind were obtained through a test, Mental Time Travel Scale that was developed by Eren (2009, 2010). In addition, the 6th Grade Maths Achievement Test and the 7th Grade Maths Achievement Test were developed by the researcher as the pre-test and post-test. Along with this, maths course grades of the students in the previous year were obtained through the school administration. According to the results of the research, it was noted that that as a manipulation vehicle, music worked as a clue in the figuration of involuntary memories/images in the group in which music was used when they are compared to the control group. This kind of effect of music also helped the students to remember the memory / image in the mind in a positive way, and it was seen that this has been effective in increasing the success in the maths course by engaging the minds related to the course in the class.
