Özet
vn ÖZET“Ortaöğretim'de Biyoloji Eğitiminin Sorunları”adı altında toplanan bu araştırma; 1. İzmir ilindeki biyoloji öğretmenlerinin biyoloji eğitimine (amaçları, müfredat ve ders kitapları, yöntemler, araç-gereçler, ölçme değerlendirme, ders saatleri açısından) yönelik görüşlerini belirlemek. 2. Öğretmenlerin görüşlerini cinsiyet, medeni durum, yaş, okul türü, mezun olduğu son okul, diploma türü ve öğretmenlik mesleğindeki hizmete göre karşılaştırmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçları gerçekleştirmek için kişisel bilgilere ek olarak biyolojinin amaçlar, müfredat ve ders kitapları, yöntemler, araç-gereçler, ölçme- değerlendirme ve ders saatlerinden oluşan altı alanı kapsayan 84 maddeli, 3 seçenekli (Kaüiıyorum-Karar sızım -Katılmıyor) anket hazırlanmıştır. Örnek- lem olarak îzmir ili liselerinden tesadüfi yöntemle 20 okul seçilmiş, bu okullar da çalışan 100 öğretmene 1995-1996 öğretim yılı ilk yarısında uygulanmış, toplanan anketlerin 70'i geçerli sayılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin ankete vermiş oldukları cevapların yüzdeleri, standart sapma ve t değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma sonunda elde edilen bulgulardan çıkarılan sonuçların önemli olan bazıları aşağıda verilmektedir. 1. îzmir ilindeki liselerin çoğunda biyoloji eğitiminde uygulamaya yete rince yer verilmemektedir. 2. Biyoloji eğitimin amaçlan teknolojik gelişmeyi yakalayamamaktadır. 3. Biyoloji eğitiminde müfredat programı ve kitap eksikliği hessedilmek- tedir.vm 4. Okulların çoğunda çağdaş öğretim yöntemleri kullanılmamaktadır ayrıca gereçleri yetersizliği bulunmaktadır. 5. Biyoloji eğitiminde dersler çoğunlukla öğretmen merkezli işlenmekte, sınavlar klasik sistemle yapılmakta, bu da öğrenciyi kopya çekmeye ve ezber ciliğe yöneltmektedir. 6. Getirilen yeni eğitim sisteminde belirlenen haftada bir saat biyoloji dersi yeterli görülmemektedir. 7. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğu bilgisayar kullanmayı öğrenmek için hiz met içi eğitim kursu açılmasını istemektedirler.

ABSTRACT The purposes of this research which is written under the name of“Problems in Teaching Biology in high Schools”are as follows : 1. To determine the views of biology teachers in Izmir Province on teaching biology (in terms of purposes, the programme and course books, methods, tools and equipments, testing and evaluation, course hours) 2. To compare the views of the teachers according to their sex, marital status, ages, types of school, the last schools they graduated, types of diplomas and years in teaching. In addition to personal knowledge about them to realize these purposes, a questionaire containing of 84 items with 3 answers each (I agree, I don't, know, I disagree) under six chapters was prepared covering purposes of biology) the programme and course books, methods, tools and equipments, testing and evaluation and course books. As the sampling population, 20 schools were chosen at random among high schools of İzmir Province and the questionnaire was carried out on 100 teachers working in these schools, in the first term of the school year of 1995-96 and 70 questionnaire forms were accepted valid. The percentages of answers of the teachers to the questionnaire, standart deviations and t-values were calculated. Some of the important results obtained from the findings as the result of the research are as follows: 1. There is not much application work in teaching biology in most of high schools in Izmir Province. 2. Purposes of teaching biology cannot catch the technological development.VI 3. There are missing points and books are insufficient in teaching biology. 4. Contemporary teaching methods are not used in most of the schools. Moreover, laboratory and course tools and equipments are not sufficient. 5. Courses are mostly teacher oriented and exams are in the classic system in teaching biology and they direct students to cheating and memorizing. 6. One hour of biology course in a week in the new education system is not sufficient. 7. Most of the teachers require internal training course to be opened to learn how to use computer.
