Özet
Bu çalışma, kadın üniversite öğrencilerinin sporla uğraşma durumuna göre beden hoşnutluğu düzeyleri ve iletişim becerisi düzeylerinin karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmaya Hitit Üniversitesinde 4 fakülte ve 1 yüksekokul olmak üzere 5 farklı alanda öğrenim görmekte olan tesadüfi örneklem yöntemi ile seçilmiş 196'sı aktif olarak spor yapan 364'ü spor yapmayan toplam 560 kadın öğrencinin gönüllü olarak katılımı sağlanmıştır. Çalışmada ''Beden Bölgelerinden ve Özelliklerinden Memnuniyet Ölçeği'' (BBMÖ) ve ''İletişim Becerisini Değerlendirme Ölçeği'' (İBDÖ) anketleri uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada İki farklı ölçek (BBMÖ) ve (İBDÖ) ile elde edilen ölçek puanları arasındaki ilişki parametrik olmayan Spearmans korelasyon katsayısı ile araştırıldı. Sosyodemografik özelliklere göre bağımsız iki grubun ölçek puanları karşılaştırmalarında parametrik olmayan Mann Whitney U testi kullanıldı. İkiden fazla bağımsız grubun ölçek puan karşılaştırmalarında Kruskal Wallis Varyans analizi (parametrik olmayan ANOVA) kullanıldı. Araştırma bulgularına göre, öğrencilerin İBDÖ ölçek puanları, sporla ilgilenme durumu ve spor türü değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur. Fakülte, ailede veya kendisinde kalıtsal bir hastalık olup olmadığı, gelir düzeyi, sporla ilgilenme düzeyi, spor yaşı değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmamıştır. Öğrencilerin BBMÖ ölçek puanları ise sporla ilgilenme durumu, spor türü, sporla ilgilenme düzeyi ve spor yaşı değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur. Ailenin eğitim durumu, ailede veya kendisinde kalıtsal bir hastalık olup olmadığı ve gelir düzeyi değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmamıştır. İki ölçek puanları arasında ise istatistiksel olarak zayıf düzeyde pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak beden bölgelerinden hoşnutluğun öğrencilerde iletişim becerilerini arttırdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

It is hereby intended to study the body image contentment levels and communicative skill levels comparatively among the female university students who do and who do not do sports. This study was attended voluntarily by 560 female students, out of whom 364 there of were actively doing sports, while the remaining 196 did not, who were studying at 5 different fields, namely 4 faculties and 1 high-school, and who were selected by way of random sampling. This study, ''Scale of Contentment from Body Parts'' (SCBP) and Scale for Evaluating Communicative Skills" (SECS) questionnaire were applied. The relation between the scale points attained from the two different scales, namely (SCBP) and (SECS), was investigated in the study by means of the non-parametric correlation coefficient of Spearmans. Non-parametric Mann Whitney U-test was applied in the comparison of the scale points of the two sociodemographically different groups. Kruskal Wallis Variance analysis (non-parametric ANOVA) was applied in the comparison of the scale points of more than two independent groups. According to the findings attained from the study, SECS scale points of the students were found statistically meaningful as per the variants of the status of interest in sports and the type of sports. The same were not found statistically meaningful as per the variants of the faculty, whether he/she or his/her family had any hereditary disease, level of income, level of interest in sports, and age of doing sports. SCBP scale points of the students were found statistically meaningful as per the variants of the status of interest in sports, the type of sports, level of interest in sports, and the age of doing sports. The same were not found statistically meaningful as per the variants of the educational background of the family, whether in students or their family had any hereditary disease, and the level of income. The relation between the two scale points was determined as being a positively meaningful relation at a statistically weak level. After all, it was concluded that, the contentment in their body parts improved the students' communicative skills.
