Özet

SUMMARY The ultimate goal of traditional periodontal therapy is to resolve the inflammatory lesions in the periodontal tissues. For many decades, researchers have been interested in promoting regenaration of tooth- supporting structures destroyed by inflammatory periodontal diseases. This requires regeneration of fibrous connective tissue, formation of new bone, and reattachment of new connective tissue fibers into newly formed cementum. When appropriate! ly triggered, periodontal ligament cells are thought to play an important role in promoting periodontal regeneration. Thus considerable research efforts have focused on PDL cells to promote migration and proliferation to root surface and synthesis of new fibrous tissue. For this purpose, several flap tecniques, bone grafts, barter membranes and biochemical agents are used for periodontal regeneration. In this study we have focused on establishing biological activities of allografts (DDKD, CKA and cementum) and alloplastic graft material (Biocoral) in an in vitro experimental system. The biological activities of DDKD, CKA, cementum and Biocoral examined included their ability to promote proliferation attachment and protein content of human PDL fibroblasts and MC3T3-E1 cells, isolated from mouse osteosarcoma. None of the grafting materials didn't have any inhibitory effect on both of cell groups. Biocoral elicited a statistically significiant increase in total protein production compared to controls on the PDL fibroblasts on 4th day. In 70rapid attachment assay, effects of CKA and Biocoral have been found statitically significant compared to other grafting materials and an enhanced attachment of surface unit have been detected in Biocoral group. The highest number of mineral like nodules have been observed in DDKD group on MC3T3-E1 cells. 71
