SUMMARY At the end of post-operative period mandible moved backward by 3.23° with a significant increase in witts appraisal due to set-back. At the end of follow-up period as a result of very slight anterior rotation of mandible, witts appraisal decreased and resulted in the mandibular relapse. Post-operatively occlusal plane showed a very slight counter-clockwise rotation due to the clockwise rotation of inferior border of mandible, resulting in an increase in occlusal plane-mandibular plane angle. After follow-up period the occlusal plane-mandibular plane angle relapsed to almost the pre-operative position. But the ANS-Xi-Pm angle remained stable throughout. Maxillary incisors slightly proclined after removal of IMF, and continued to procline during the follow-up period. Mandibular incisors retroclined significantly after IMF period but returned to their original pre-operative position at the end of follow-up period. Upper lip thickness decreased slightly while lower lip thickness increased non-significantly, thus resulting in the relaxation of the lower lip after IMF period. At the end of follow-up period upper lip thickness continued decreasing, and so did the lower lip 57thickness. This decrease in the mandibular, lip thickness might be due to the mandibular relapse and mandibular incisor proclination.
