Özet
Bu tez çalışmasının temel amacı, ATAŞ yerleşkesinin, mimari nitelikleri, mekânsal kurguları ve içerikleri ile mekânsal ve sosyal olarak arzulanan 'modern' yaşama dair bir değerlendirme yapma olanağı sunmaktır. Bu bağlamda, Ataş yerleşkesi ve Ataş yerleşkesinde bulunan konutların incelenerek, Cumhuriyet dönemi mimarisi yanı sıra toplumsal ve mekânsal değişime yaptığı katkı ele alınmaktadır. Bu bağlamda özel sektör olarak ele alınan Ataş yerleşkesi dışında dönemin modernleşme çabalarına devletin sağladığı katkı da görmezden gelinmemekte, eğitim kurumlarından sanayi yerleşkelerine dek uzanan çerçevede sağlanan katkılara değinilmektedir. Ataş yerleşkesinde bulunan konutlar kendi içinde kıyaslanarak, farklılıklar ortaya konularak, mekânsal değişim olarak adlandırılan boyutta nasıl bir katkı sağladığına dikkat çekilmektedir. Ayrıca Ataş yerleşkesindeki konutlarla Nazilli Basma Fabrika yerleşkesindeki konutların karşılaştırılması yoluyla da, Ataş yerleşkesinin mekânsal ve toplumsal değişime yaptığı katkı ortaya konulmaktadır.

The main purpose of this thesis is to provide an assessment of the 'modern' life of Atas settlements, their architectural qualities, spatial constructions and contents, and spatial and societal preference. In this context, the residences in the Atas settlement and the Atas settlement are analyzed and the social and spatial changes as well as the Republican period architecture are discussed. In this context, apart from the Atas settlement, which is considered as a private sector, the contributions provided by the government to the modernization efforts can not be ignored, and the contributions provided from the educational institutions to the industrial settlements are mentioned. It is emphasized that the residences in Atas settlement are compared within themselves and the differences are revealed and how they contribute to the dimension called spatial change. Moreover, the contribution of the Atas settlement to the spatial and social change is also revealed through the comparison of the houses in the Atas settlement with the houses in the Nazilli Basma factory settlement.
