Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Fen Teknoloji Mühendislik Matematik (FeTeMM) uygulamalarının ortaokul 5. Sınıf öğrencilerinin sorgulayıcı öğrenmelerine, motivasyonlarına ve Fen Bilimleri dersi“Canlılar Dünyasını Gezelim ve Tanıyalım”ünitesindeki akademik başarılarına etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma ön-test son-test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen modelinde tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Antakya merkezde bulunan bir ortaokulda aynı öğretmenin ders verdiği 2 şubede öğrenim gören 5.Sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Bir şubedeki öğrenciler deney grubunu diğer şubedeki öğrenciler kontrol grubu olarak rastgele seçilmiştir. Canlılar Dünyasını Gezelim ve Tanıyalım ünitesi deney grubuna FeTeMM uygulamalarına göre hazırlanan ders planlarıyla, kontrol grubuna ise mevcut müfredat programa göre anlatılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak her iki gruba uygulama öncesi ve sonrası“Canlılar Dünyasını Gezelim ve Tanıyalım Başarı Testi”(CDGTBT)“Fene Yönelik Sorgulayıcı Öğrenme Becerileri Algısı Ölçeği”(FYSÖBAÖ),“Fen Öğrenmeye Yönelik Motivasyon Ölçeği”(FÖYMÖ) uygulanmıştır. Deney gububuna uygulama sonasında“FeTeMM (STEM ) Uygulamalarına İlişkin Öğrenci Görüşme Formu”uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler yüzde, frekans, ortalama, standart sapma, bağımsız gruplar t- testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda, FeTeMM (STEM) uygulamalarının akademik başarı ve fene yönelik sorgulayıcı öğrenme becerileri algısı üzerinde olumlu yönde etkisi olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte, Motivasyon ölçeğinin alt kategorileri incelendiğinde araştırma ve işbirliği lehine olumlu bir artış tespit edilirken performans iletişim ve katılım alt kategorilerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmemiştir.

This study aims to investigate the effects of Science Technology Education Math (STEM) practices on academic achievement, questioning learning skills and motivations of students in the 5th grade of middle school in“Traveling and Knowing the World of Life”section in Science lecture. The study was designed in a semi-experimental pattern model with pre-test post-test control group. Sample of the study A middle school in the center of Antakya was selected by appropriate sampling method. The sample of the study was created by the 5th grade students who were trained in 2 branches where the same teacher taught. A group of students in one branch formed the control group of students in the other branch. The Cruising and Knowing the World of Life unit was explained with the lesson plans prepared according to the STEM applications in the experimental group and with the methods appropriate to the course book in the control group. As a data collecting tool, both groups were given the“Scale of inquiry learning scale perception devise”(MILSPD),“A Questionnaire for Motivation toward Science Learning”(QMTSL) and“STEM Teaching Student Interview Form on the Implementation of the Method ”(TSIFIM) was applied. The obtained data were analyzed by statistical analysis using the mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage values of these data using an appropriate statistical program. Student interview forms were evaluated using qualitative data evaluation techniques and content analysis techniques. As a result, it has been determined that STEM applications have a positive effect on academic achievement. In addition, STEM practices have improved the perceptions of students' questioning learning skills positively. However, when the subcategories of the motivation scale were examined, a statistically significant difference was not found in the subcategories of performance communication and participation, while a positive increase was found in favor of research and cooperation.
