Electronavaids And Radionavaids 6. Automatics, Control and Monitoring Systems Tests. The subject of sea trials is also a very important element in a newbuilding contract and the shipyard and the owner agrees where and how these trials are conducted. The two may disagree over this point and delivery may be refused. Sea trials are designed to examine the ship as a complete unit. On board areas for scrutiny are broken down into hull, navigational and nautical equipment and machinery and electrical installations. The conditions for starting the sea trials are; a). The dock testing of all machinery, equipment and systems should be completed, b). The ship is allowed to start the voyage when her manoeuvring/signalling equipment in the engine room and on the ship are full working order, c). For the whole time of the sea trials, the following systems should be on; - Fire-fighting central unit, - Air-conditioning system, - Potable and sanitary water system, - sewage treatment plant. d). The proper computer system insulation, electric arrangement insulations should be obtained and presented to the owner, e). Stand-by machinery should be operated in the same way as the main one. The sea trials examined in this work are as follows; 1. Speed Test 2. Determination Of Ship's Inertia Test 3. Manoeuvre Speed Steps

The sea trials are the determination of the running condition and the state of the systems together with the whole ship performance. For example, the performance test are applied to main engine in various running conditions at the sea trials. However, the tests of the main engine outfitting, piping system and other equipment are performed in the dock trials. The dock and sea trials ought to completed in the short time between launching and the first voyage. After that, time is the most important component. The dock and sea trials should be programmed and organised according to a schedule plan. XI4.9. Lighting Installation 4.10. Navigations Lanterns 4.11. Indicators and Alarms 5.
