Özet
Bu araştırma, Ortaokul 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin çevre sorunları konusundaki bilişsel yapılarının ve alternatif kavramlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2013-2014 öğretim yılında Konya kent merkezinden seçilen ortaokul okullarında öğrenim gören 8. sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Çalışma 410 öğrenciyle yapılmıştır. Araştırma modelini çevre sorunları bilgi testi ile kelime ilişkilendirme testi oluşturmaktadır. Testte yer alan çevre sorunları ile ilgili sorular hava kirliliği, su kirliliği, toprak kirliliği, gürültü kirliliği ve küresel ısınma ile ilgilidir. Çevre sorunları bilgi testinin geçerlilik ve güvenirlik analizi için 25 soru hazırlanmış, geçerlilik analizi sonuçlarına göre 4. soru anlamlı olmadığı için (p<0,05) bilgi testinden çıkarılmıştır. Soru sayısı 24'e düşürülerek çalışma 410 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Cronbach Alpha formülü uygulanarak gerçekleştirilen güvenirlik kat sayısı 25 soruya göre 0,850 olarak belirlenmiştir. Teste ait analizler SPSS programı kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca, 5 ana kavramdan oluşan kelime ilişkilendirme testi 410 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerin vermiş olduğu cevaplar için frekans tabloları hazırlanmıştır. Daha sonra bu tablolara göre kavram ağları oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmada sorulan çoktan seçmeli bilgi testinden elde edilen sonuçlar değerlendirildiğinde öğrencilerin çevre sorunları hakkında bilgi sahibi oldukları anlaşılmıştır. Öğrencilerin kelime ilişkilendirme testinde her kavram için verdiği kelimeler ve bu kelimelerden kurdukları cümleler değerlendirilmiştir. Bu değerlendirme sonucunda ise öğrencilerin çevre sorunları hakkında yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadıkları görülmüştür. Bazı öğrencilerin kurmuş olduğu cümlelerde bilimsel olmayan ya da yüzeysel bilgi içeren kelimeler yazdıkları da görülmektedir. Ayrıca anahtar kavramlara yazdıkları kelimelerde öğrencilerin kavram yanılgısına düştükleri tespit edilmiştir.

This research has been made to determine the alternative concepts and cognitive structures of environmental problems of 8th grade primary school students. The study group of the research is consisted of the 8th grade students who study in the primary schools selected from Konya city center in 2013-2014 school years. The study has been conducted with 410 students. The model of research is consisted of the knowledge of environmental issues test and word association test. Questions about environmental issues being in the test are related to air pollutions, water pollutions, soil pollutions, noise pollutions and global warming. It has been prepared 25 questions for the validity and reliability analysis of the knowledge test of environmental issues, and it has been removed from knowledge test because the fourth question is not meaningful (p <0,05) according to the results of the validity analysis. The study has been applied to 410 students by reducing to 24 the number of questions. The reliability coefficient performing of Cronbach Alpha formula has been determined as 0,850 according to 25 questions. Analyzes of the test have been obtained by using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program. Also, the word association test consisting of 5 main concepts has been applied to 410 students. The frequency tables have been prepared for the answers given by the students. Then, it has been made concept networks according to this table. When the results of the multiple-choice knowledge test asked in the research are evaluated, it has been understood that the students had information about the environmental problems. The words given by the students for each concept in the word association test and the sentences they made from these words have been evaluated. As a result of, it has been seen that the students did not have sufficient knowledge about environmental problems in this evaluation. It has been also seen that some students have written words that contain non-scientific or superficial information in their sentences. In addition, it has been found that the students fall into misconception of concept in the words that they write to the key concepts.
