Özet
Bu çalışmada tiyatronun kaynağı, Geleneksel Türk Tiyatrosu, Darülbedayi ve İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Şehir Tiyatroları'nın yapısı ve işleyişi incelenmiştir. Tiyatro ile toplum arasındaki ilişki kurumun kuruluşundan, tarihten, geleneksel oyunlardan ve içlerindeki tiplerden yola çıkılarak araştırılmıştır. Türkiye'nin en önemli sanat kurumu olan Şehir Tiyatroları'na olan günümüzdeki ilgi ve kurumun mevcut faaliyetleri de bu çalışmanın tiyatro ile toplum arasındaki güncel ilişkisini içermektedir.

In this study, the origin of theater, traditional Turkish theater, Darülbedayi and the structure and functioning of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters were examined. The relationship between the theater and the society has been searched through the foundation of the institution, historical progress, traditional plays and the characters within. Nowadays the interest in City Theaters which are the most important art institution of Turkey, and the current activities of the institution are the points mentioned in this work as the indications of existing relationship between the theater and the society.
