II SUMMARY; In this work my- objective is to make a research on the development. of the concept of museum in the sixteenth century in today's sence. The for mation of the 'object' which were the reason for the existence of the mu seum, the 'Object-Space' relation, the tray formation of object into the 'collections', the relation of, 'collection and space' and the other ef fective fonctions were considered in parallel with this historical process. Originating from Renaissance, the concept of museum in a developmen process until the 19 th Century and today it is in a fully developed from. At the beginning of modern architecture in the early 20 th Century, a museum building, began to progress rapidly as on architectural from. The development of social sciences has led to the rasearches on the psychological aspecet of man and he hes been regarded as a social crea- tureoxing to the psychological and psyche on anaiitical methods. The da ta obtained art by these methods has been ased in the fields of museum as well as in all similar fields. The idea of 'Contemporary Museum' is synthesis which has been reached with the experience on the history of museum together with the knowledge of 'Modern Social Sciences' According to the contemporary museum concept, from the psychological point of view, a man visiting a museum is conside red as someone who is having a social activity and he should have a com fortable atmophere.. In the lost chapter the formation of this atmospher being discussed and evaluated.
