Özet
Bu eser metninin amacı, 19.yüzyıl ilk tuval resminden 1980'e kadar olan süreç içerisinde Türk ressamlarının mekan-espas yöntemlerini, dünya görüşleri ilkesinde anlama ve değerlendirmektir. Çalışma modern Türk resimde mekan espas ilişkisini incelemek, dönemlerine ve sanatçıların duyarlılıklarına göre farklılık gösteren biçimsel yöntemleri saptamaktadır. Tanzimat'tan sonra Türk resminde doğu-batı senteziyle oluşan mekan espas algısını ve yöntemlerini kavrayabilmek adına ilk bölümde Panofsky ve Florenski'nin perspektifli mekan ve perspektif kullanılmayan mekan yaratımına kısaca değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde Türk resmini Tanzimat, Meşrutiyet, Cumhuriyet ve Çok Partili Dönemler olarak gruplandırarak modern Türk resminde mekan espas ilişkisi irdelenmiştir. Eser metni çalışmasının sonucunda sanatçıların ilk zamanlar Batıdan öğrendikleri mekan-espas yöntemlerini ve teknik bilgilerini, ait oldukları dünya görüşleri çerçevesinde bir senteze ulaştırma eğilimi gösterirken, 1960 sonrasında gözlemlenen sanatçıların donamımlarının artmasıyla resimlerinde mekan-espas ilişkisinin biçimsel yöntemlerini içerik ile bir öze ulaştırdıkları görülmektedir.

The purpose of this thesis is based upon a world-view comprehension and evaluation of how Turkish artists handled the issue of space and place between the period of 19th century's early oil on-canvas paintings until 1980's. The study aims to research the relation between space and place to determine formal methods that can change depending on the sentiments of the artists and era it belongs to. In order to grasp the perception and methods of space and place which arise out of the synthesis of East and West after Tanzimat Reform Era, Panofsky's and Florenski's creating the place with and without perspective is mentioned in the first chapter. In the second chapter, the issue of space and place relation in Turkish Painting is studied in terms of the classification of Tanzimat Reform Era, Constitutional period Republic period and Multi-party period. As a result of this thesis, it is noticed that in early days, artists tend to synthesise the methods of space and place along with their technical knowledge within the scope of their philosophy of life, but on the other hand, artists, observed after 1960's, as they get more equipped, artists are seen to bring out content with the formal methods of space and place into a basis.
