Özet
Bu araştırmanın genel amacı, ilköğretim okulu yöneticilerinin öğretmenlerin motivasyonunu artırmada başvurdukları stratejileri belirlemektir. Bu genel amaç doğrultusunda aşağıdaki sorulara yanıt aranmıştır.?Okul yöneticilerinin öğretmenlerin motivasyonunu artırmada başvurdukları stratejiler nelerdir?Öğretmen görüşleri; cinsiyet, medeni durum, kıdem ve branş değişkenleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık göstermekte midir?Samsun ili dört merkez ilçesinde ( ilkadım, Atakum, Canik ve Tekkeköy ) 2010- 2011 eğitim- öğretim yılında görev yapan 360 öğretmen araştırma grubunu oluşturmaktadır.Araştırma ? Tarama Modeli? ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen nicel veri toplama aracı kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizi SPSS paket programı kullanılarak yapılmıştır.Okul yöneticilerinin öğretmenlerin motivasyonunu artırmada başvurdukları stratejilere ilişkin görüşlerinin; cinsiyet, medeni durum ve branş değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığı t-testi kullanılarak; kıdem değişkenine göre ise Kruskal- Wallis testi kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. P<0,05 için tüm sonuçlar istatiksel olarak anlamlı kabul edilmiştir.Araştırmada okul yöneticilerinin öğretmenleri motivasyonunu artırmada başvurdukları stratejiler; birey, mesleksel gelişim, ödül ve özendirme odaklı motivasyon stratejileri olmak üzere dört boyutta ele alınmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda ulaşılan sonuçların bazıları şunlardır:?Birey odaklı motivasyon stratejisi boyutuna ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerinin madde ortalama puanlarının genel olarak yüksek olduğu görülmektedir.?Birey, mesleksel gelişim ve ödül odaklı motivasyon stratejilerine göre öğretmenler arasında cinsiyet, branş, medeni durum ve kıdem değişkenleri arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır.?Özendirme odaklı motivasyon stratejilerine göre öğretmenler arasında, cinsiyet, medeni durum ve branş değişkenlerine anlamlı bir fark bulunmadığı, ancak kıdem değişkenine göre; kıdemi 5 yıldan az olan öğretmenler ile kıdemi 21 yıldan fazla olan öğretmenler arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kıdemi 5 yıldan az olan öğretmenler okul yöneticilerinin özendirme odaklı motivasyon stratejilerine daha fazla başvurduklarını ifade etmişlerdir.

The purpose of this study is to determine the strategies that primary school managers follow to increase the motivation of teachers. In line with this main purpose, the research seeks answers to below questions.?What are the strategies that primary school managers follow to increase the motivation of teachers??Do the views of teachers differ significantly depending on variables of gender, marital status, seniority and branch?The research group was consisted of 360 teachers working in four central districts of Samsun (İlkadım, Atakum, Canik, Tekkeköy) in the academic year of 2010 -2011. The study was conducted by ?Survey Model?. Data was gathered by quantitative data collecting tool developed by the researcher. SPSS package program was used for data analysis.T-test, for the variables of gender, marital status and branch, was used to determine if there is a statistically significant difference in the views of school managers regarding the strategies that they use to increase the motivation of teachers. The variable of seniority, on the other hand, was analyzed by Kruskal- Wallis test. P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Strategies that are used by school managers to increase teachers? motivation were discussed in four aspects, which are individual, professional development, reward and incentive based motivation strategies. These are some of the results of the study:?The views of teachers, regarding individual based motivation strategies aspect, item mean points were high.?In terms of individual, professional development and reward based motivation strategies, not a significant difference was found among teachers for the variables of gender, branch, marital status and seniority.?In terms of incentive oriented motivation strategies, there wasn?t a significant difference among teachers for the variables of gender, marital status and branch. For the variable of seniority, however, a significant difference was detected between teachers with an experience of less than 5 years and the ones with an experience of over 21 years. Those with an experience of less than five years stated that they looked to incentive oriented motivation strategies more.
