EK 14 SUMMARY The purpose of this study is to detect the coherence between the objectives of Turkish National Education and the perception of the eleventh grade students on success. Initally, the related literature have been scanned and the research is planned. In order to allocate data, the first step was to analyze“General objectives of the Turkish National Education”. The se objectives have been reported under three categories and the categories have been analized under various subtitles. Sampling of the research covers up the senior classes of the various schools in different regions in Ankara. Social-science, science-mathematics and literature sections are taken at the tycees in three areas of different economical level.“Özel Tevfik Fikret Lisesi”represents the students of high income, level,“Çankaya Lisesi”represents average and Aktepe Lisesi is placed on the lowest economical status. 295 students of nine classes were asked to write their experiences on success in the form of essay for the purpose of the research. The studens have been asked to write an essay on the following two questions;“What do you understand from the word success?”and“Specify 131132 the three incidents which you think you have been succesful for the last three years”. The collected data has been examined and analyzed in accordance with the main purpose of the thesis, which is to find out the coherence between the perception of students on success and the general objectives of the national education. The findings have also been explained by graphics and tables with full interpretation.
