Özet
TÜRKÇE ÖZET Bu çalışma İngilizce'nin son derece ihmal edilmiş bir dalı olan Askeri İngilizce'yi ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Tez Harp Okulu'nun üçüncü sınırında karşılaşılan dinleme becerisi ile ilgili problemleri ele alıp çözüm yollan önermektedir. Birinci bölüm çalışma ile ilgili amaçlan, ikinci bölüm dinleme becerisi ile ilgili olarak kullanılan değişik teknikleri ve dinleme ile ilgili bilgileri içermektedir, öğrencinin ihtiyaçlarıyla ilgili kısa bir analiz yapıldıktan sonra üçüncü bölüm dinleme ile ilgili materyalleri ele almaktadır. Dördüncü bölüm ise Harp Okulu'nda üçüncü sınıf öğrencileri için örnek bir ders planı vermektedir. Beşinci bölüm ise bu çalışma boyunca öğrenci, öğretmen ve İngilizce Programı açısından ele alınan bütün konulan ve sonuç kısmını kapsamaktadır.

ABSTRACT This study aims to treat in some detail, military English, that is EMP (English for Military Purposes), a considerably neglected area. It brings up the listening problems of the third year students in the War Academy and suggests solutions. The first chapter covers the purpose and the background to study; the second chapter gives a short review of the literature and summarizes various techniques. After giving a brief analysis of the students' needs, the third chapter introduces the materials for listening activities. The fourth chapter presents a sample lesson plan teaching listening in EFL classes within military schools; namely for the third-grade military students. Chapter five is the conclusion, which rounds up all the issues alluded to throughhout the dissertation on account of the learner, the teacher and the English program in the War Academy. IV
