- İÜ - ÖZET ÎZNİK TARİKİ SURLARINA, KORUMA VE SA?LIKLAŞTIRMA UKiAşMI, ÖZMERT (TUNGUR), ÇİÇEK YÜKSEK LİSANS TEZİ, RESTORASYON, MİMARLIK TEZ YÖNETİCİSİ: Öğr. Gör. Emre- MERAN EKİM 1988, 135 sayfa İznik surları kent ölçeğinde ele alınması gereken bir konudur. Yapılması düşünülen koruma imar planlarının, konunun önemini açığa koyacak düzeyde olmayacağı açıktır. Konuyu ele alırken var olan imar planlarını toptan red etmeyen fakat tartışan ve eleştiren karşıt koşulları araştıran bir yaklaşım öngörülecek tir. Çeşitli ölçeklerde belgeleme, değerlendirme, bir koruma stratejisi oluşturma ve çeşitli düzeylerde kısa ve uzun dönemli öneriler geliştirme çalışmanın kapsamını oluşturacaktır. Kentin tarihi gelişimi, kent sur ilişkilerinin, ulaşım, işlev, mekan boyutlarında ortaya konması, surların yapısına yönelik tespitler çalışmanın birinci bölümünü oluşturur.- IV - Surların değerlendirilmesi, sorun ve olanaklarının saptanması ikinci bölümde yer almaktadır. Bu değerlendirmelere bağlı koruma politikaları koruma ve kullan ma kararları 3. ve 4. bölümün kapsamı içindedir. Çalışma surlara yönelik önerilerin geliştirilmesi ile sonuçlanır.

ABSTRACT AK APPROACH TO CONSERVATION AND REHABILITATION OF İZNÎK HISTORICAL CITY WALLS ÖZMERT, (TUNCER), ÇÎÇEK M.S. in RESTORATION, ARCHITECTURE SUPERVISOR: Inst. Emre MADRAN OCTOBER 1988, 135 pages The İznik city walls is a subject to be considered within the city scale. It is obvious that the conservational plannings (Ko ruma îmar Planları) which are being thought to be prepared, will not be at a level to put forward the importance of the subject. While the subject is being examined in this study an approaching, which doesn't reject totally the present plannings (imar planları) but discusses and criticizes them and searches for the other alternatives, will be foreseen. The documentation, evaluation in certain scales, the formation of a conservational strategy and the production of proposals both in short and long runs in certain levels will form the contents of the study.- İİ - The historical development of the city, putting forward the city-city walls relations from the aspects of transportation, function, space and confirmations due to the form of the city walls form the first chapter of the study. The second chapter covers the evaluation of the city walls and the determination of the problems and possibilities of them. The conservation policies and decisions due to conservation and utilization related to the above mentioned evaluations are within the contents of the third and fourth chapters. The study comes to on end with the development of the proposals for the city walls.
