The dissertation aim to provide deep understanding about the reasons behind Eurozone Debt Crisis by the Greece case study. In order to do that, factors has been investigated according to reliance to the subject. Mainly, factors can be divided in 3 as trigger, internal and external factors. The literature review revealed the gap in the literature. In-depth analysis about Greece economy and importance of Maastricht Treaty has been ignored by the literature about the crisis. Additionally, majority of the literature is not supporting the judgements with graphs or numerical numbers. However, the author's point of view, it is essential to support findings with quantitative data when it comes to economics. The gap in the literature was completed by articles and books about other topics which includes the wanted information. The dissertation is based on Greece example as single case study. During the research secondary data collection method has been adopted. Qualitative and quantitative mixed methods has been used for the analysis to reach findings. Articles, websites, raw data sources, databases, books has been used as secondary data sources of the dissertation. In this sense, the analysis has been driven by quantitative data and graphs and supported by qualitative data. Interpretation of the figures and emphasise the connection between them is the main research methodology. In order to fill in the gap in the literature and provide comprehensive understanding analysis of the Greek economy has took large part of the findings. Aim of the analysis were to discover fragilities and potential threads to Greek economy which can drive the country to crisis. Competitiveness, efficiency, tax evasion has been analysed as the main problems of the Greek economy and the reasons behind the debt crisis. Additionally, structural problems reasoning from the currency area has been analysed such as Maastricht treaty and difference between member's profile. Finally, as proposed as trigger factor in the literature has been considered as conjectural problem of the crisis. According to the author, if not a global financial crisis, it would be a different reason to start debt crisis. As a result of the research, background problems has been analysed and research questions has been answered clearly.
