The focus of this study is to explore eight novice EFL teachers' professional identity constructions through narratives in terms of the three educational and professional stages they have moved through: teacher education programme, teaching practicum and teaching practice. This study consists of participants who graduated from the same university and who are currently working at four different levels of education institution. The data was gathered through semi-structured interviews to elicit participants' stories, and was analysed according to the thematic analysis. Findings suggest that EFL teachers' professional identity constructions are profoundly affected by teacher education programme, teaching practicum and teaching practice. It is found out that the prominent factors on professional identity construction were the professional contexts and EFL teachers' interactions with other people in that context. Implications for teacher education, limitations and suggestions for further studies are also discussed.
