Özet
Köy Enstitüleri, siyasetin ve eğitimin kesiştiği bir noktada bulunmaktadır. Bu kurumlar aracılığı ile Osmanlı Devleti'nden miras alınan dini-gelekesel yapının kırılabilmesi ve yerine Cumhuriyet rejiminin ön gördüğü şekilde muasır medeniyetlerin gerektirdiği toplumsal yapının inşa edilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu anlamda Köy Enstitüleri'nin, altı ok ile temellenmiş cumhuriyet ideolojinin ve Türk Devrimi'nin taşıyıcısı bir kurum olarak işlev görmesi beklenmiştir. Okuryazarlık oranının yükseltilmesi ve halkın eğitilmesi Köy Enstitüleri'nin bir diğer amacıdır. Bu,“muasır medeniyet”olabilmenin koşullarından biridir. Bir diğer koşul ise bağımsız ve güçlü bir ekonomidir. Bu anlamda Köy Enstitüleri, köylerden başlayacak bir kalkınma hamlesinin kilit parçası olarak görülmüştür. Bu çalışmada, cumhuriyet ideolojisini yapılandırmaya çalışan bir ideolojik araç, bir modernleşme aracı ve bir eğitim kurumu olarak Köy Enstitüleri'nin, toplumsal değişmede oynadığı rol değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda belirlenen“Yeni kurulmuş bir devlette cumhuriyet ideolojisi yapılandırılırken bir eğitim kurumu olarak Köy Enstitülerinin toplumsal değişmede oynadığı rol nedir?”problemi bağlamında, Köy Enstitülerinin yayın aracı olan“Köy Enstitüleri Dergisi”nin örneklem olarak seçilen içerikleri, eleştirel söylem çözülmesi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Bulgular, Köy Enstitülerinin cumhuriyet ideolojisini kurmak ve benimsetmek için kullanılmış bir ideolojik aygıt olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca Köy Enstitülerinin, Türk Devrimini pekiştirerek modern toplum yaratma hedefini gerçekleştirecek toplumsal dönüşümleri sağlayacak bir kurum olduğunu doğrulamıştır. Fakat enstitüler toplumsal dönüşümde anahtar rolü oynayamamıştır. Çünkü bu kurumlar kısa süre hayatta kalmıştır. Her köye ulaşacak kadar mezun verememiş, dolayısıyla ideolojilerini yurdun her noktasına taşıyamamışlardır. Köy Enstitülerin yayın organı olan Köy Enstitüsü Dergisi de enstitüler arasındaki iletişimi temel aldığı için geniş bir kitleye ulaşamamış ve bu nedenle bağlı olduğu kurumun ideolojisini kurumların gidemediği yerlere götürmekte başarılı olamamıştır.

Village Institutes are placed on the intersection of politics and education. The objective of these institutes is replacing of Ottoman heritage religious-traditional structure with contemporary civilization social structure which was designed by the republican regime. It was expected that Village Institutes act as driving facility of the Turkish Revolution and republic ideology which based on the six arrows. Increasing the literacy rate and public education are other aims of the Village Institutes. It is one of the requirements of being a contemporary civilization. Another requirement is independent and strong economy. In this sense Village Institutes are considered as the key factor of development that onset in villages. In this study, role of Village Institutes on the social change is evaluated and these institutes are considered as an ideological instrument to configure republic regime and a modernization instrument and also an educational facility. To investigate the role of Village Institutes on the social change while configuring the republic ideology in newly established state, critical discourse analysis technique is used on selected sample contents of Journal of Village Institutes which is publication of the Village Institutes. Findings are showed that, Village Institutes are used as an ideological device to establish and adopt the republic ideology. Also it is confirmed that, Village Institutes are a kind of facility to realize the modern society creation aim and provide social transformations with stiffening the Turkish Revolution. However because of their short life time, these institutes could not play the key factor role on the social transformations. They could not graduate students in sufficient numbers to reach every village so the ideology could not be transferred to all around the country. Village Institutes publication the Journal of Village Institutes was based on inter communication of institutes so they did not reach a wide audience and they were failed to carry the ideology of the institutes where they had not arrived.
