Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı öğrencilerin bulut bilişim destekli işbirlikli öğrenme etkinliklerine yönelik deneyimlerinin incelenmesidir. Bu kapsamda öğrencilerin etkinliklere katılım düzeyleri ve etkinliklere katılımlarıyla ilişkili faktörler araştırılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda, biri pilot etkinlik olmak üzere üç adet bulut destekli işbirlikli öğrenme etkinliği tasarlanmış ve 9 haftalık bir uygulama gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğrenci grupları, etkinlik kapsamındaki iletişimlerini, rapor yazma aktivitelerini ve doküman hazırlama çalışmalarını Google Dokümanlar isimli sistem üzerinden yürütmüşlerdir. Çalışma grubunu önlisans düzeyinde öğrenim gören 30 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Tüm öğrencilerle uygulama sonunda yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmış ve öğrencilerin bulut üzerindeki sistem kayıtları tutulmuştur. Nitel veriler için içerik analizi, nicel veriler için ise betimsel analiz yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin etkinliklere katılım durumlarının etkinlikler açısından farklılık gösterip göstermediği karşılaştırma testleriyle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, bulut teknolojilerinin öğrencilere sunduğu mekândan bağımsız çalışabilme, grup üyelerinin aktivitelerini görebilme, aynı belge üzerinde eşzamanlı çalışabilme ve dosya taşıma özgürlüğü gibi avantajların öğrencilerin etkinliklere katılımlarında önemli rol oynadığı belirlenmiştir. Ancak bulut teknolojilerinin kullanımında internet erişim zorunluluğu ve bulut aracının fonksiyonları göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır. Araştırmanın diğer bir önemli sonucu ise etkinlikler arasında, etkinliklere katılım açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık olduğudur. Bu fark, etkinliğin bulut üzerinde gerçekleşen kısmının yoğunluğu ile ilişkilendirilmiştir. Ayrıca bulut destekli işbirlikli öğrenme etkinliklerinin, işbirlikli öğrenmenin hazıra konma etkisi ve sömürülme etkisi gibi sınırlılıklarını kapatma potansiyeli olduğu görülmüştür. Bulut teknolojilerinin doğasına uygun tasarlanan işbirlikli etkinlikler yoluyla öğrenci katılımının arttırılması sağlanabilir.

The aim of this study is to examine the experiences related to cloud-supported cooperative learning activities of students. Within this scope, the factors concerning the students' level of participation to such activities and their participation to these activities were examined. In this respect, three cloud-supported cooperative learning activities – one being the pilot activity – were designed and a nine-week practice was carried out. The student groups performed their inter-activity-communication, their reporting activities and their documentation studies via the system called Google Documents. The subject group comprises 30 students at associate level education. Following the practices, all the students were provided with semi-structured interviews and all cloud related records of the students were kept. Content analysis methods were used for qualitative data while descriptive analysis methods were used for quantitative data. Moreover, whether the participation of the students shows differences in terms of activities was analyzed using comparison tests. According to the research results, it was determined that the advantages that cloud technologies provided for students such as being able to work free from setting, being able to see the activities of other members of the group, being able to work on the same document synchronously and the freedom of carrying the documents played a crucial role in the students' participation to the activities. Yet, obligation of having internet access and the functions of the cloud tool should be taken into consideration while using cloud technologies. Another important outcome of the research is the fact that there is a statistically meaningful difference among the activities in terms of participation. This difference was associated with the density of the part of the activity that took place on cloud. Moreover, it was seen that cloud-supported cooperative learning activities had a potential to eliminate some disadvantages of cooperative learning such as the free-rider effect and the effect of being exploited. Students' participation can be increased by designing cooperative activities according to the nature of the cloud technologies.
