Özet

ABSTRACT A MICROPROCESSOR BASED FUZZY CONTROLLER FOR AN INDUCTION HEATING SYSTEM KARABUDAK, Hayrettin M.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Supervisor: Prof. Dr. H. Bülent ERTAN January, 1995, 181 pages. The objective of this thesis is to design of a microprocessor based controller for the control of furnace temperature of an induction heating circuit which is previously designed in METU as a master thesis. To choose the control method, various possibilities are investigated. Fuzzy control is found to have advantages for this application. Various fuzzy control algorithms are developed for this system and their responses are tested. Moreover the thesis presents the test results. The controller is also equipped the facilities for warning the user in case of violations of user defined set point or stooping the operations. The valuable observations are that the fiızzy control is most suitable control method for this system and the controller protects the system from undesirable conditions. Furthermore, the controller permits programming of the heating cycle, and also displays current, voltage power and temperature values.
