ABSTRACT This programc, we characterize the feurfaco morphology of the natural dis- ontinuties. For this purpose^ a. apecial profiloBieterB, which can he easily ransported and operated in the field and measure 280 mm loug profiles, was ecigned. The recorded profiles are digitized and analysed to obtain surface.orphology characteristics of the discontinuities. In this paper, the auther, escribe joint roughness angles and fractal dimensions on the irregular jo- n.t surface profiles», fractal dimensions of the ISEK suggested roughness pro files were determined and tke measured roughness of angles of endesides sur faces axe compared with those estimated. Finally, the andeeides of the fractal Eethod of Joint roughness de terminal ;ion are discussed. -1-
