POLİTİYOFEN KAPLI ELEKTROTTA BAZI REDOX ÇİFTLERİNİN VOLTAMETRİK YÖNTEMLE İCELENMESİ (Yüksek Lisans) SELMA ÖZDEMİR GAZİ ÜNİVERSİTESİ FEN BİLİMLERİ ENSTİTÜSÜ (ŞUBA T 1995) ÖZ Bu çalışmada, önce tiyofenin asetonitril çözücüsü ve tetrabütilamonyumperklorat (Bt4NP) veya tetraetilamonyum- tetrafloroborat (Et4NBF4) içinde ve ayrıca 3-metiltiyofenin asetonitril çözücü ve tetraetilamonyumtetrafloroborat içindeki elktropolimerizasyonu incelenmiştir. Asetonitril çözücüsü ve (Et4NB^) taşıyıcı tuz içinde platin yüzeyine yapışık ve sulu ortamda şişmeyen bir politiyofen filmi elde edilebilmiştir. Daha sonra politiyofen filmi ile kaplı elektrotta Fe+3/Fe+2, kinon/hidrokinon ve ferrisiyanür/ferrosiyanür redoks çiftlerinin elektrokimyasal kinetiği dönüşümlü voltametri tekniği ile incelen miştir. Bulgular, çıplak platin elektrottaki redox davranışları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar politiyofen filminin p tipi bir yarı iletken olduğu kabul edilerek açıklanmıştır. Çalışma koşullarında hazırlanan politiyofen filminin Fe+3' Fe+2 gibi nisbeten küçük katyonların vexbaglan içeren kinon ve hidrokinonun indirgenip yükseltgenmesini daha tersinir hale getirdiği bulunmuştur. Film indirgenme yönünde elektron geçişine yükseltgenme yönüne göre daha müsaittir.

11 THE INVESTIGATION OF SOME REDOX COUPLES ON POLYTHIOPHENE COVERED ELECTRODE WITH VOLTAMMETRIC TECNICH (M. Sc. Thesis) SELMA ÖZDEMİR GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (FABRUARY 1995) ABSTRACT In this study the polymerization of thiophene in acetonitrile containing tetrabutylammoniumperchlorate (Bt4NP) or tetra- ethylammoniumtetraflouroborate(Et4NBF4) supporting electrolytes and the polymerization of 3-methyl thiophene in acetonitrile with tetraethylammoniumtetraflouroborate were investigated and not swollen in aqueous media was obtained using acetonitrile solvent and (Et.NBF4) supporting electrolyte. The electrodes covered with polythiophene film were then employed to investigate the electrochemical kinetics of Fe+3/Fe+2, quinone/hydroquinone, and ferricyanide/ferrocyanide redox couples using Cyclic Voltammetry. The results were explained assuming polythiophene film was a p- type semiconductor. The polythiophene film obtained in our working conditions was found to increased the reversibility of the reduction of small cations such as Fe+3 Fe+2 and species containing % bonds such as quinone and hydroquinone. The film was also observed to facilitate reduction more than the oxidation.
