Özet
Özürlülere rehberlik servisinin basarisinda rehber öğretmenlerin özürlülere yönelik tutumlari temel öneme sahiptir. Bu çalismanin amaç i, özürlü bireyler hakkinda bilgi iletişimi ve açiklama sürecinin, rehber öğretmenlerin özürlülere yönelik tutumlari üzerindeki etkinliğini arastirmaktir. Arastirmanin örneklemi, her iki grupta 15 olmak üzere, rassal olarak seçilen, toplam 30 gönüllü rehber öğretmenden olusmaktadir. Arastirmanin temel dizayni, deney grubuna özürlü birinin yasamina ilişkin bir film gösterimi, özürlü bir konukla karsilikli tartisma ve özürlülüğe ilişkin grup tartismalarinin gerçekleştirildiği 6 seansi kapsamistir. Tutumlar, özürlülere Yönelik Tutumlar Skalasi- O Formu'nun (ATDP-0) Türkçe adaptasyonu ile ölçülmüştür, ölçü araci ön test ve son test olarak her iki gruba es zamanli olarak dagitilmistir. VKukla değişkenli regresyon analizi gruplarin ön test puanlarinda anlamli bir farklilik olmadigini göstermiştir. Kontrol grubunun ön test ve son test puanlari arasinda da anla,li bir farklilik bulunamamistir. Ancak, deney grubunun ön test ve son test puanlari arasinda 0.01 düzeyinde anlamli bir farklilik bulunmasi, deneysel sürecin rehber öğretmenlerin özürlü bireylere yönelik tutumlarini analamli ve olumlu bir düzeyde değiştirdiğine işaret etmiştir. Arastirmada tutum ve cinsiyet, tutum ve deneyim arasindaki iliskiyede bakilmistir. Analiz sonuçlari kadin ve erkek rehber öğretmenlerin tutumlari arasinda arasinda anlamli bir farklilik olmadigini göstermiştir, özürlü öğrencilerle çalisma deneyimi olan rehber öğretmenlerin tutumlari, özürlü öğrencilerle çalisma deneyimi olmayanlara oranla anlamli ve olumlu yönde farkli bulunmuştur, özetle, arastirma deneysel sürecin rehberlerin özürlülere yönelik tutumlarini anlamli ve olumlu yönde değiştirdiğine yönelik ek bir bulgu saglamaktadir.

Attitudes of school counselors are crucial for successful counseling service to persons with exceptionality. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of exposure to information on individuals with handicap on the attitudes of school counselors to persons with exceptionality. Thirty school counselors, volunteers, were assigned randomly to two groups of fifteen each. An experimental design was used in which the experimental group was exposed to 6 sessions that included a film about a person with handicap, a face to face discussion with a person with impairment and group discussions with the experimenter on handicapping conditions. The Turkish adaptation of the Attitudes Toward Disabled Persons, 0 Form (ATDP-O) was administered to both experimental and control groups pre- and post- exposure conditions. The control group was only IIIadministered the ATDP-0 at the same time as the experimental group. A dummy variable regression analysis indicated no significant difference between the two groups on the pre-measure. Differences between pre- and post-measures for the control group were also not significantly different. However, differences between the pre- and post-measures for the experimental group were significant at p. 01 level providing evidence for the effectiveness of this type of exposure program on increasing positive attitudes towards exceptional persons. Attitude-gender and attitude-experience of the school counselors was also investigated. No significant difference was found between male and female counselors. Counselors who had previous experience with students with exceptionality had significantly more positive attitudes towards persons with exceptionality than counselors without such experience. In summary this study gives further evidence that exposure to persons with exceptionality increases positive attitudes towards them.
