Özet

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı 2005 yılında uygulanmaya başlanan kazanım merkezli öğretim modelinin ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin üstlü ve köklü ifadelerdeki uygulamalarda hangi hatalara sıklıkta başvurduklarını ortaya çıkarmaya yönelik öğrenci merkezli sistemin kavram yanılgılarını ve öğrenme güçlüklerini ne oranda azalttığını araştırmaktır. Bu araştırmaya bağlı olarak matematik öğretmenlerinin öğrenci merkezli sistemi ne oranda benimseyip uyguladıklarını öğrenmek için hazırlanan 21 adet test sorusu İstanbul'un çeşitli ilçelerinden seçilen 10 okuldaki 2667 adet 10. Sınıf öğrencisi arasından 623 öğrenci üzerinde uygulanmış ve sonuçlar analiz edilmiş, puanlama sonrasında testin analizi için SPSS 20 programı kullanılmış, güvenirlik analizi için Cronbach alfa katsayısına bakılıp 0,80 bulunmuştur. Yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda yeni modelin kavram yanılgılarını azaltmada istenen başarıyı gösteremediği belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna bağlı olarak öğrenci merkezli öğretim sisteminin öğretmenler tarafından ne oranda benimsenip uygulandığını tespit edip, iyileştirilmesi adına nelerin yapılabileceği üzerinde durulup çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur.

Basic goal of this study is to find out mistakes that secondary school students make in applications of roots and exponentials which is thought based on acquisition centered teaching model, of which application started in 2005 and starting from this point, to investigate the extend that student-centered system decreases misconceptions and learning difficulties point. Besides, to learn how mathematics teachers adopted and applied student-centered system depending on this work, 21 test questions were prepared for this investigation and applied to 623 students from class 10 from schools in different districts of Istanbul and results were analyzed. SPSS 20 has been utilized for analysis of the test after scoring and coefficient of Cronbach alpha was calculated as 0.80 for codependancy analysis. As a result of studies, it was found that new model has not been successful enough in reducing misconceptions. Depending on results of the investigation, suggestions have been made on finding out the extend that student-centered education system has been adopted and applied by mathematics teachers, on what can be done to improve the situation.
