Özet
Bu araştırmada, ilköğretim 7. sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersi“Maddenin Yapısı ve Özellikleri”ünitesinde analoji yöntemi kullanılmasının öğrencilerin başarıları ve derse karşı tutumları üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada deneysel araştırma türlerinden biri olan öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel model kullanılmıştır. Çalışma 2010-2011 eğitim öğretim yılının ikinci döneminde Denizli ilinin Çivril ilçesindeki bir devlet okulunda 7. sınıf öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada deney grubunda 22, kontrol grubunda 22 olmak üzere toplam 44 öğrenci yer almıştır. Deney ve kontrol grubunda yapılan uygulamalar ve konu işlenişi aynı hafta başlayıp 10 hafta sürmüştür. Deney grubunda dersin işlenişi sırasında analoji yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Kontrol grubunda ise öğrenci ders kitabı ve öğrenci çalışma kitabı kullanılarak dersin işlenişi yapılandırmacı yaklaşımla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney ve kontrol gruplarına uygulama öncesinde ve sonrasında Maddenin Yapısı ve Özellikleri Ünitesi Başarı Testi ve Fen ve Teknoloji dersine yönelik Tutum Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Başarı testinden ve tutum ölçeğinden elde edilen nicel veriler SPSS 14,0 ile istatistiksel analizler gerçekleştirilmiştir. İstatistiksel analizler için Wilcoxon İşaret Sıralaması Testi ve Mann-Whitney U Testi kullanılmıştır. Sonuçta Fen ve Teknoloji dersinde analoji yönteminin kullanılmasının öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını arttırdığı ve derse karşı daha olumlu tutum geliştirmelerini sağladığı belirlenmiştir. Fakat analoji yönteminin daha etkili olmasına karşı analoji yöntemi kullanılmadan da öğrenci başarısının arttığı ve öğrencilerin Fen ve Teknoloji dersine karşı olumlu tutum geliştirebildiği bu araştırmanın sonucunda görülmüştür.

The aim of the study is to examine the effect of analogy method on students' academic achievements and attitudes toward science course. The subject of“Structure and Properties of Matter”was taught to the both groups. Pretest – posttest control group quasi-experimental model was used in this study. The study was carried out with students of 7th grade of a state primary school in Çivril, Denizli at spring term of 2010-11 academic year. Both experimental group and control group had 22 students and in total, 44 students joined the experiment. Furthermore, applications and lessons were started at the same time for both groups and these were carried on for 10 weeks. During the lessons, analogy method was used for the experimental group. For control group, lessons were taught in constructivist approach with using student course books and work books. In addition, Science Achievement Test and Science Attitude Scale were applied at the beginning and at the end of instruction to both groups. Quantitative results of Success Test and Attitude Scale were analysed with SPSS 14.0 software. For the statistical analyses, non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test were used. In conclusion, it is determined that instruction with analogy method increases academic achievements of students and provides more positive attitude towards science. However, improvement in students' success and their attitudes toward course is also observed in the absence of this method, although it is more efficient.
