Özet
Toplumun kimliğinin korunması, tarih bilimi ve öğretiminin sağlıklı bir şekilde yapılmasına bağlıdır. Bu nedenle öğretmen yetiştiren eğitim kurumlarına geçmişten günümüze değin önemli görevler düşmüştür. Sağlıklı bir tarih öğretimi, bilimsel veriler ışığında oluşturulan öğretim yöntemleri, uygulanabilir müfredatlar ve kendisini yenileyebilen öğretmenlerle mümkün olabilecektir. Bütün bu unsurların sağlıklı bir şekilde bir araya getirilebilmesi için, eğitim ve öğretim yapan kurumlara, YÖK'e, sorumlu hükümetlere ve MEB'e önemli görevler düşmektedir. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nde geçmişten günümüze tarih öğretiminin gerçekleştirilmesi, bu alanın uzmanları olarak bilinen öğretmenler ve öğretim elemanları yoluyla olmuştur. Öğretmen yetiştiren kurumlarda, diğer alanlarda olduğu gibi tarih alanında da öğretimin nasıl yapılacağına dair çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin ilk yıllarından 1980'lere kadar toplumda tarih bilincinin geliştirilebilmesi için, uzun yıllar, tarih öğretimi yapan ve bu alanda tarih öğretmeni yetiştiren kurumlardan biri de Eğitim Enstitüleri olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Eğitim Enstitülerinin işlevi, tarih öğretimine, tarih öğretmenlerinin yetişmesine katkıları ve bu alanlarda yapılan yanlışlar ile yaşanan olumsuzluklar incelenmiş ve sorgulanmıştır. Çalışmanın sınırları, Eğitim Enstitülerinin kuruluşundan kapatılmasına kadar (1946- 1980) 34 yıllık bir süreci kapsamaktadır. Bu süreç içerisinde, söz konusu kurumlardaki tarih öğretimi ve öğreticiliği bu çalışma kapsamında irdelenmiştir. Yine bu çalışmada Enstitülerde yapılan tarih öğretimi ve yetiştirilen Sosyal Bilgiler veya Tarih öğretmenlerinin niteliği, tartışmaya açılıp değerlendirilmiştir.

The protection of society's identity, depends on science of history and its healthy way of teaching. Thus, teacher institutions have had important roles from past to present. Healthy way of history teaching is possible when there are teaching methods that are created in the lights of scientific datas, applicable curriculums and teachers who are updated. To bring all of these elements together, Government, Board of Higher Education, Ministery of Education and institutions have important tasks. From past to present, in the Republic of Turkey, history has been taught by the academicians and instructors who are experts in their fields. Among teacher training institutes, as well as the other fields, studies in history concerning the methods of teaching have been made. From the early years of the Turkish republic until 1980's for developping historical consciousness, the Educational institutions are one of the important organizations which teach history and train history teachers. In this study, role of the Educational institutions, their teaching of history and their contribution to training history teachers, all the mistakes that are made in this field and the negative sides are examined. The boundaries of the study includes the process of 34 years (1946-1980) between the establishment and the closure of the Educational Institutions. In this period, training history teachers and teaching history in those intitutes are questioned in this study. Also the qualification of the socialstudies teachers and history teachers are discussed and evaluated in this study.
