Özet
Fıkıhta, abdest alırken ayaklara yapılacak işlem hususunda ilk dönemden itibaren bir ihtilaf söz konusudur. Bu çalışma, Mâide 6. âyet esas alınarak abdest alırken çıplak ayağa mesh etmenin caiz olup olmadığı hususunun Kur'ân ve Sünnet ışığında tespitini kapsamaktadır. Önce mesh ile ilgili temel kavramlar ele alınmış, daha sonra Ehl-i Sünnet ve Şîa'ya ait belli başlı tefsirler incelenmiştir. Konuyla ilgili hadisler derlenerek tahlil ve tenkitleri yapılmış ve meşhur mezheplerin görüş ve delilleri tetkik edilmiştir. Yıkama ve mesh görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesinin yanı sıra abdest konusunda bir nesih olup olmadığı hususu Kur'ân-Sünnet ilişkisi açısından araştırılmıştır. Sonuçta, mesh kelimesinin yıkama anlamına gelmediği tespit edilmiş ve Mâide sûresinin 6. âyetinin ayakları yıkamayı gerektirdiğine dair getirilen deliller isabetli bulunmamıştır. Kur'ân-Sünnet bütünlüğü açısından Peygamber'in (s.a.v.) Mâide 6. âyetten önce, geçmiş şeriatlere göre abdest aldığı ve ayaklarını yıkadığı, bu âyetten sonra ise uygulamanın nesh edilerek hafifletildiği ve O'nun (s.a.v.) ayaklarını mesh ettiği sonucu çıkarılmıştır. Dolayısıyla yıkama ve mesh hadisleri arasında bir çelişki olmadığı ve ilgili âyette ayaklara meshin emredildiği kanaatine varılmıştır.

In Fıqh, there has been a controversy on the process to be applied to the feet while performing the ablution since the first period. Basing on the sixth verse of Sûrah al-Ma'idah, in the light of Quran and Sunnah, this study includes determining the issue of whether wiping of the bare feet while performing ablution is permissible or not. Firstly, the basic concepts in relation to wiping were discussed. Later on, main commentaries of the Ahl al-Sunnah and Shia were examined. Analysis and criticism of hadiths compiled on the subject were made and the views and proofs of well-known sects were explored. In addition to the evaluation of various views on washing and wiping, the focus was put upon whether there was an abrogation on ablution in terms of the Qur'an-Sunnah relationship. Eventually, it was determined that concept of the wiping didn't mean the washing; and evidences which assume that in the sixth verse of the Sûrah al-Ma'idah ordered the washing of the feet were found unacceptable. From the point of the unity of the Qur'an and Sunnah, the study came to the conclusion that the Prophet (pbuh) performed ablution and washed his feet in accordance with the old Sharias before the related verse, but after this verse was revealed, this application was mitigated by the abrogation and He (pbuh) wiped his feet. On account of that, this study reached the conclusion that there was no inconsistency between the hadiths of washing and hadiths of wiping, and in related verse was ordered the wiping of the feet.
