Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, günümüz ekonomisinde hizmet sektörünün yerinin ve geleceğinin araştırılması, hizmet maliyetlerinin takibinin öneminin ortaya konması, maliyet muhasebesinin hizmet sektöründe uygulanabileceğinin ve faydalarının araştırılmasıdır. 20yy sonlarında Türkiye ekonomisinde hizmet ekonomisi içindeki özel eğitim sektörü büyük önem kazanmıştır. Artan rekabet ortamında özel eğitim işletmeleri rekabet gücünü ellerinde tutmak için pazara ve maliyetlere hâkim olmak zorundadırlar. Günümüzde özel eğitim sektörünün çok önemli mesafeler kat etmesine rağmen, maliyet muhasebesi kullanılmamaktadır. Artık maliyetlerin rekabetin bir unsuru haline geldiği günümüz ekonomisinde özel eğitim sektörünün de maliyetlerini büyük önem vermeleri ve bütçelerini buna göre düzenlemeleri gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, özel eğitim sektörünün geçmişi ve geleceği araştırılmış, maliyet muhasebesi sistemi ve hizmet üretim maliyet kayıt sistemi incelenmiş, örnek olarak bir özel öğretim kurumunun hizmet üretim maliyetleri hesaplanmış, İzmir bölgesinde faaliyet gösteren özel öğretim kurumlarının maliyet muhasebesine ve özel öğretim sektörüne bakışları incelenmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of the service sector in today?s economy and its future, to show the importance of service cost tracking, and to research the applicability and benefits of cost accounting in service sector. The private education service gained importance in the service sector of the Turkish economy at the end of the 20th century. In order to sustain their competetive advantage, the private education firms have to control the market and costs. Despite significant progress in private education sector, firms do not implement cost accounting. In today?s economy that considers costs as part of competition, private education sector has to pay more attention to costs and prepare budgets accordingly. This study researched the past and the future of private education sector, examined the cost accounting and service production cost recording systems, calculated the service production costs over an example of a private education organization, and examined the views of private education organizations in Izmir on cost accounting and private education sector.
