Özet
52 ÖZET Istanbul Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Eğitim Hastanesi Psikiyatri Kliniğinde yapılan bu çalışmada grup terapisinin etkinliğini araştırmak için 44 hasta (20 hasta kontrol grubu, 24 hasta deney grubudur) değerlen dirmeye alınmıştır. Bu hastalara ruhsal belirti düzeylerini, benlik saygısını ve işlev selliğini değerlendirmek üzere başlangıçta ve sonuçta testler uygulanmış tır. Hastaların çoğunda başlangıçta yapılan test sonuçları, somatizas- yon, depresyon, anksiyete, fobik anksiyete, öfke, kişilerarası duyarlılık, paranoid düşünceler ve ek psikiyatrik belirtiler yönünden çok zengin belir tilerle karşılaşılmıştır; grup sonunda elde edilen veriler de ise gruba kat lan ve katılmayan hastalarda aynı düzeyde gerileme olmuştur. Grup psikoterapisine katılım ile ruhsal belirtilerin iyileşmesi, benlik saygısının artması ve işlevsellik düzeyinin yükselmesi arasında bir bağlantı saptanamamıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar değerlendirilmiş, başka çalışmalarla karşı laştırılarak sonuçların farklı olduğu görülmüştür. Bu farklılığın nedeni grupların başlangıçta planlandığı şekilde yürütülmemesi olarak düşünülmüştür.

53 SUMMARYı This study has been done with 44 cases (24 cases for experimen tal, 20 cases for controlling) in Educational Hospital of School of Medici ne at Istanbul University to investigate the effects of group psychotherapy. We used three psychological tests to assest, psychiatric symptom level, self esteem level and functional level of the cases. The findings were different at the begining and at the end of the groups. At the begining many of the patinets have had high symptom levels (somatization, depression, anxiety, fobic anxiety, anger, interpersonal sen sitivity, paranoid thoughts, and additional psychiatric symptoms), but on the other side at the end of groups the patients who applied group psychot herapy have had less symptom levels than the patients who did not apply group psychotherapy. Joining to the group psychotherapy is not proportional with dec reasing in symptom levels, increasing in functional level and self esteem level. As a result, the study shows group therapy has therapeutic effects of the begining of diseases and in long term. Our findings were evaluated and compared with the other studi es. This finding are not compatible with the others. We think the reason of this differency is the groups have not gone as planed.
