Özet
Avrupa'da 19. yy'dan sonra avangart sanatın doğuşunu başka hiçbir faktör endüstri kadar etkilemedi. Endüstri, yarattığı yeni toplumsal ilişkilerle geniş halk kitlelerini sanata yön veren bir konuma yükseltmekle kalmadı, dahası; teknolojiyle sanatçıların hayal gücünü de ateşledi, sanatın ontolojik yapısını bizzat belirledi.Endüstrileşmenin sanat üzerinde bu denli yoğun etkilerinin yaşandığı bu çağda, aynı türden etkilerin Türkiye'deki karşılığını aramak bu araştırmaya başlamanın başlıca saikiydi. Nitekim Osmanlı İmparatorluğu son iki yüz yılını Avrupa'nın endüstriyel, kültürel ve sanatsal etkilerini kendi üzerinde yoğun bir şekilde hissederek geçirmişti. Sanayileşmiş Avrupa'nın sanat biçimlerini örnek alan Türk sanatının türev bir sanayileşmenin getirdiği sorunlarla iç içe gelişerek Osmanlı'nın Cumhuriyet'e devrettiği mirastı bu.Bu mirasa bağlı olarak geliştirilen yöntem ve araçlarla cumhuriyet yönetimi, türev bir endüstrileşmeden ziyade yerli bir sanayileşmenin ilk atılımını gerçekleştirdi. 1920'li yıllar boyunca siyasal-sosyal devrimlerle altyapısının oluşturularak sanayi ülkesi olmaya adanmış bu güçlü irade, heykel, resim ve özellikle mimarlığın gelişiminde en önemli kaynağı teşkil etti. Bu bağlamda Erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi, bugün dünya sanat ortamında söz sahibi olmaya başlayan Türk sanatının üzerinde yükseldiği temeli oluşturan bir sürecin adı oldu.

No other factors, other than industry, had affected the emergence of the avant-garde art in Europe after 19th century. The industry had, not only enhanced large mass of people to a position, directing the art through the newly developed social relations, but what is more; the technology had provoked the imagination of the artists, had determined the ontological structure of the art, specifically.In this century, that such kind of intensive impacts of the industrialization over the art had been experienced, to look for the correspondence of the similar types impacts in Turkey, has been the main reason to initiate this research. Hence, the Ottoman Empire had experienced its last two hundred years by feeling Europe?s industrial, cultural and artistic impacts over itself intensively. This has been a heritage of Ottoman, assigned to the Republic, that modeling the industrialized Europe?s art styles, Turkish art had developed with the problems at close quarter, owing to a derivative industrialization.Through the methods and tools, developed depending on this heritage, the Republic Administration had realized the first progress of the domestic industrialization rather than a derivative industrialization. During 1920?s, by establishing the infrastructure through political-social revolutions, this strong willpower, that had been dedicated to become an industrial country, had constituted the most important source for the development of sculpture, painting and especially architecture. In this respect, Early Republican Period has been the name of the process that forms the ground over which Turkish art has arisen, that has begun to have a voice in the world?s art environment, today.
