Özet
Bu çalışmada, metodolojik bireyciliği kapsamlı bir biçimde eleştirmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla ilk olarak, metodolojik bireyciliğin diğer bireycilik türleriyle (özellikle de normatif bireycilikle) ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Bunun ardından, hem tarihsel hem de teorik sebeplerden dolayı, metodolojik bireycilik savunucuları arasında üç figüre odaklanılmıştır: Max Weber, Karl R. Popper ve Jon Elster. Tüm bu incelemeler sonucu, metodolojik bireyciliğin öznelci (yani Weberci) ve nesnelci (yani Poppercı) hatlarının çıkmazda olduğu ve indirgemeci (yani Elstercı) metodolojik bireyciliğin ise sosyal bilimi imkânsız kıldığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu noktada, şu soruları soran derin, ontolojik bir argümana ihtiyaç duyulduğu fark edilmiştir: Sosyal bilimin inceleme konusu nedir? Sosyal bilimin ?nesne?si ne olmalıdır? Cevap şudur: Sosyal bilimin ihtiyaç duyduğu şey, benim adlandırmamla üç-ontolojidir; metafizik-ontoloji, bilimsel-ontoloji ve alana-özgü ontoloji. Sosyal bilimin alana-özgü-ontolojisi, ?sosyal ontoloji?dir. Ve sosyal bilimin nesnesi de ?sosyal yapı?dır. Dolayısıyla ?sosyal yapı?yı üç-ontolojiyle tutarlı hâle getirmek gerekir. Bu çalışmada amaçlanan işte tam da budur. Bu çalışma, Roy Bhaskar ve izleyicilerinin çalışmalarında temsil edilen eleştirel-realist sosyal bilim yaklaşımına dayanmaktadır. Bunun birlikte, burada öne sürülen tezler özgün tezlerdir ve sosyal bilimlerdeki sosyal yapı kavrayışını derinleştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır.

In this study it is aimed to criticize the methodological individualism comprehensively. To this end, first of all, it is investigated the relation of methodological individualism with the other types of individualisms (especially, with the normative individualism). Then, among apologists of the methodological individualism, it is focused on three figures for both historical and theoretical reasons: Max Weber, Karl R. Popper and Jon Elster. It is deduced from all these investigations that both subjectivist (that is, Weberian) and objectivist (that is, Popperian) lines of the methodological individualism are deadlocked, and that the reductionist (that is, Elsterian) methodological individualism renders the social science impossible. Here, it is recognized to need a deeper, ontological argument which asks the following questions: What is the subject matter of social science? What should be the ?object? of social science? The answer is that what is required for the social science is three-ontologies which I called: metapyshical-, scientific-, and domain-specific-ontologies. The domain-specific-ontology of social science is ?social ontology?. And the object of social science is ?social structure?. Accordingly, it must become ?social structure? consistent with three-ontologies. This is just that it is aimed in this study. This study is based on the critical-realist approach of social science which have represented in the works of Roy Bhaskar and his followers. Nevertheless, the realist theses have put forward here are original ones, and aim to deepen the conception of social structure in the social sciences.
