Özet
ÖZET Bu çalışmada, kentlileşme sürecinde bireylerin siyasal değer, tutum ve davramşlannaaile yapısının etkisi saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla, çalışmanın araştırma grubu İzmir' e en son göç edenlerin yer aldığı bir gecekondu mahallesi ve 1950' lerde ilk göç edenlerin yer aldığı bir gecekondu mahallesi ile kontrol grubumuzu oluşturan, kent merkezinde yer alan mahallelerden biri olan Mithatpaşa' dan seçilen bireylerden oluşmaktadır. Bu temelde, bağımsız değişkenler olarak aile yapısı ve kentte kalış süresi, bağımlı değişken olarak da bireylerin siyasal değer, tutum ve davranışlarının içerildiği siyasal yönelimin yapısı ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda, öncelikle kentte kalış süreleri farklı olan gruplarımızın aile yapılan saptanmaya çalışılmış ve mevcut aile yapılan içinde yer alan bireylerin siyasal değer, tutum ve davranış özellikleri ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Amaçlanan aile yapısı ve siyasal yönelim ilişkisi de, gruplar arasında yapılan karşılaştırmalarla saptanma yoluna gidilmiştir. Sonuçta elde edilen verilerin, araştırmanın hipotezlerini genelde doğrular nitelikte olduğu görülmüştür. 302

SUMMARY In this research an attempt is made to analyze the effect of family structure on the formation of the individual's political values, attitudes and behaviours in the process of urbanization. With this aim in mind, two types of gecekondu areas are chosen as test groups, one of which representing the individuals who have recently emigrated to İzmir and the other representing the individuals who have emigrated in the 1950's. The control group is taken from Mithatpaşa, which is cousidered to be one of the city centers. On this basis family structure and the duration at stay in the city are taken as independent variables, individual's political values, attitudes and behaviours which form the ingredrents of the structure of political orientation as deperndent variable. In this connection, we have tried to describe, firstly the family structures of the sampling groups in respect to size, composition and the charesteristics of relationships. And secondly, we have tried to evaluate the special features of the individual's political values, attitudes and behaviours in respect to the family structures of the above named sampling groups, which are chosen on the basis of duration of stay in the city. The relationship between the family structure and the political orrentation, which is the core aim of this research, is evaluated by means of comparing the groups on the basis of independent and dependent variables. In conclusion, we can assert that within the framework of the evaluated research data, the hypothesis formulated for this research have been, in general, proved to be true. 303
