Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim 6. sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersinde dolaşım sistemi konusunun zihin haritalama tekniği ile öğrenmenin uygulandığı deney grubu ile geleneksel öğretim yönteminin uygulandığı kontrol grubunun akademik başarıları arasında farklılığın olup olmadığını belirlemektir.Araştırma 2010-2011 öğretim yılı ikinci döneminde Erzurum ilinde aynı bölgede bulunan iki farklı ilköğretim okulundaki 6. sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmada bir deney ve bir kontrol grubu kullanılmıştır. İki haftalık uygulama sonucunda kullanılan yöntemlerin Fen ve Teknoloji dersinde akademik başarı üzerindeki etkisinin anlamlı olup olmadığını belirlemek için t-testleri (Independent Samples t-test, Paired Samples t-test) yapılmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda, akademik başarı açısından zihin haritalama yöntemi ile geleneksel yöntem arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu (p<0.05) sonucuna varılmıştır. Zihin haritalama yöntemi ile işlenen derslerde öğrencilerin akademik başarılarının daha fazla olduğu, ayrıca öğrencilerin derse karşı daha ilgili oldukları görülmüştür.

The aim of this research is to test if there is significant difference between the achievement scores of experimental group using mind mapping method and the control group using traditional learning method in `Circulatory System? subject in Science course.This study is carried out on two different sixth grade students in Erzurum A Elementary School and B Elementary School in 2010-2011 second semester. The research includes two groups: experimental group and control group. At the end of two weeks implementation, t-test is used in order to see the tangible effects of the applied methods on the academic achievements in science teaching.According to the result of this research, there is a significant difference between the achievements of the experimental group using mind mapping method and the achievement of the control group using traditional learning method (p<0.05). It is proved that the experimental group students are more successful and more relevant in lessons which are studied by using the mind mapping technique.
