Özet
Çalışmanın amacı coğrafi işaret (Cİ) korumasının ekonomik etkilerini irdeleyerek, dünyadaki ve Türkiye'deki Cİ korumasının kapsamını araştırmaktır. Cİ'lerin etkin bir şekilde korunmasının ekonomik etkilerini mikroekonomik ve makroekonomik açıdan incelemek mümkündür. Cİ'lerin mikroekonomik açıdan etkileri, Cİ'lerin ürünlerin tanınırlık ve pazarlama olanaklarını arttırması ve ürün farklılaşmasına yol açması iken; makroekonomik açıdan etkileri büyüme ve kalkınma, dış ticaret ve istihdam etkileri olarak sınıflandırılabilir. Cİ'lerin ekonomik etkileri bir bütün olarak değerlendirildiğinde yöresel ürünlerin ticarileşmesine yol açarak bu yörelere görece istikrarlı bir fiyat düzeyinde sürekli gelir akışı sağlaması açısından kırsal kalkınmanın önünü açması ve kırdan kente göçün önlenmesinde, ayrıca yöresel dokunun bozulmaması ve kültürel mirasın ve geleneksel bilginin sürekliliğinin sağlanmasında önemli bir role sahip olduğu ortaya çıkmaktadır.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the economic impacts of the protection of geographical indications (GIs) and to examine the scope of the protection of GIs in Turkey and in the world. It is possible to investigate the economic impacts of effective protection of GI in terms of microeconomics and macroeconomics. The microeconomic impacts of GI are the fact that GI increases the reputation and marketing possibilities and causing product differentiation. The macroeconomic impacts of GI can be grouped as the effects of growth and development, the effects of international trade and employment. When the economic effects of GI are considered together, it can be stated that GI lead to commercialization of local products thus providing income flow at relatively stable prices hence playing the role in acceleration of the rural development and prevention of immigration from rural areas. Besides GI have important roles in incorruption of regional texture, sustainability of cultural herritage and traditional knowledge.
