Özet
Ölüm, yaşı, dini, dili, ırkı, medeniyeti ne olursa olsun her canlının sınayacağı bir deneyimdir. Ölüye gösterilen saygı, onunla yaşanılmış, paylaşılmış şeyleri bir daha yaşayamama üzüntüsü olduğu kadar yine yapılan törenler de ölüyü onurlandırmak içindir.Ölümün fiziksel olandan öte boyuta geçiş olduğuna inanış var olmasaydı gömme ritüelleri de olmazdı.Arkaik Dönem'de bu törenler, prothesis ve ekphora başlığı altında toplanmıştır. Ritüeller dört aşama içerirdi. Bunlar: soma yani ölü beden (ceset), prothesis yani ölüye saygı gösterme, ekphora yani sevgili kişiden ayrılış aşaması ve gömme yani inhumasyon ya da kremasyon gömünün uygulanmasıdır.Çalınan müzik, söylenen ağıt, yapılan sunu, adanan kurban, hazırlanan mezar hep ölüyü onurlandırma, önemseme olarak var olmuş ve ölü kültüne göre gelişim ve değişim göstermiştir.

The death is an experience when everything will live it and there is no matter if they have a different religion, different language or a different civilization.The respect to dead body for make them comfortable and to their honour. In Ancient Greek, people make this. Because they know that they won?t live and won?t share again what they do with them when they were alive.If death isn?t a belief of pass the different dimension, the rituels won?t be.In Archaic period, these ritüels assembled on a topic of prothesis and ekphora. Ritüels content four steps. These are: soma(corpse), prothesis(the respect to dead body), ekphora(seperate of dear people) and burying(inhumation or cremation).Playing a music, singing a song or mourning for corpse, dewoting a sacrifice, making a grave is for dead body make by relative of corpse for respect to dead body. Because of feel the importance of dead. All of these can change and develope according to the cult of death.
