Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, okullarda ve dershanelerdeki tarih öğretimini, tarih öğretiminin başarısını, tarih öğretiminde kullanılan ders işleme yöntemlerini, söz konusu yöntemlerden etkin olanının öğretimde ne ölçüde kullanıldığını ve kullanılmadıysa bunun nedenlerini öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşlerine dayanarak incelemektir. Bu araştırmada anket ve mülakat yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Geliştirilen anket toplam 16 sorudan oluşmuş, öğretmen ve öğrencilere ayrı ayrı uygulanmıştır. Buna göre, anketlere verilen cevaplar toplanmış, analiz edilmiş ve elde edilen veriler sonuçta bir araya getirilmiştir.Araştırma, Ankara'da Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı orta öğretim düzeyindeki genel liselerin 12. sınıf öğrencileri ile özel öğretim kurumları olan dershanelerin 12. sınıf öğrencileri ve devlet okulları ile dershanelerde görev yapan tarih öğretmenleri olmak üzere iki basamakta gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ankete katılan öğretmenler ve öğrencilerin seçimi random yöntemiyle yapılmıştır. Anket toplam 18 öğretmen ile 221 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Ankete katılan iki yüz yirmi bir öğrenciden 86'sı okul veya dershanede sözel grubunda, 135'i ise Türkçe-matematik grubunda eğitim-öğretim görmektedir. Yine ankete katılan öğretmenlerden 8'i okullarda, 10'u ise dershanelerde görev yapmaktadır. Bulgular, tarih öğretim başarısının okullara göre dershanelerde daha yüksek olduğuna işaret etse de, beklentilerin tam olarak gerçekleşemediğini göstermektedir. Gerek fiziki imkanlardaki yetersizliklerin, gerekse de kullanılan klasik ders işleme yöntemlerinin öğrenciler üzerinde olumsuz etkiler yarattığı elde edilen veriler sonucunda ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu bulgular ışığında tarih öğretiminin geliştirilmesine yönelik ve ileride yapılabilecek bilimsel araştırmalara dair öneriler sunulmuştur.

The aim of this study is to inquire history teaching in schools and courses, the success of history teaching, the methods of history teaching, the most useful one of these methods and besides how extent that method is used or whether not is used; the reasons of that.With help of teachers and leaners opinions.Questionnaire and oral interview methods were used in this study.Questionnaire had 16 questions and were applied teachers or students personally.Then the answers were assebled, analized and the resuts were paired up.Inquiry occured in two steps: students of 12. grade from public schools and students 12. grade from courses and also teachers from public schools and courses students or teachers who were applied to questionnaire were chosen by random method.It was applied to twelve teachers and two hundred students.And these attenders were chosen randomly.These questionnaire was applied 18 teachers and 221 students.The total number of students who did this questionnaire were 221, 86 of them were studying in sözel group in the schools or courses and 135 of them were studying in Turkısh-maths group.8 of the teachers who did this questionnaire were teacher in scholls and 10 of them were working in courses.Although the results show that success of history teaching is beter in courses; it is seen that expectantions aren?t achieved totally.Both disability of physical environment and chassical teaching method are seen to affect learners negatively with help of these results, same suggestions for improving history teaching are represented.
