Özet
17. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren başlayan Aydınlanma Felsefesi, 18. asırda, daha etkili olmuştur. Bundan dolayı bu asra Aydınlanma denilmiştir. Doğal din anlayışını incelediğimiz Rousseau, bu düşünce sisteminin temsilcilerindendir.Bu dönemde yer alan düşünürler, insan yaşamında aklı yegane rehber edinmişlerdir. Tanrı'yı ?hareket etmeyen hareket ettirici? şeklinde tanımlayan deizm, akılcı bir anlayışla geliştirilmiş ve Aydınlanma düşüncesi içerisinde yer almış tanrı tasavvurlarındandır. Deizmi doğal din kavramıyla anmak da mümkündür.Rousseau benimsediği doğal din düşüncesi sayesinde önceki deistlerden farklı olarak aklın yanında duygulara yönelmiştir. O, fikir dünyasında bazı kavramları sorgulayarak dönemin Hıristiyanlığına birçok eleştiri getirmiştir.

The Enlightenment Philosophy, beginning from the second half of the seventeenth century, has been much effective in the eighteenth century. Because of this, this century is called as Enlightenment. Rousseau, whom we examine the natural understanding of the religion is among the representatives of this thought system.The thinkers holding a place in this century regarded the reason as a unique guide in the lifes of human beings. Deism, which defines God ?omniscient authorizer without transaction?, is developed with the understanding of the rationalist view and is among the God conception within the idea of Enlightenment thought. It is also possible to remember Deism with the concept of natural understanding of the religion.Thanks to Rousseau?s embodying natural understanding of the religion, he tends to the senses as well as the reason different from the other deists. By questioning some concepts in the world of idea, he brings a lot of criticism in Christianity of that period.
