CEMTOLJNATOyANJCTALThe centtal Anatolian metal vessels belonging to second Millennium B,C. are important group of archeological material f ör the Anatolian archeology. Today, these metal vessels belonging to thîs era are in the museums in Turkey and vnorld museums. This kind of archeological materials which were found by sistenıatically excavations in the central Anatolia and by other means (in example-> frorn illegal excavations) have been taken över by the museums. Küliepe where sistematically arceoiogical excavations have been carried out since 1948 have contributed to the central Anatolian metal vessel repertoire of 2nd. Millennium B.C. The subject of our thesis is the material.find out from the areheologieal levels whieh sistematically excavated in Kültepe and the metal vessels belonging to Hittite period and bought by museums. Kültepe metal vessels in the first quarter of 2nd. Hilleniuın B.C. and belonging to Assyrian Trade Colony period have filled the gap of Hittite metal vessel repertoire. Hittite literatüre mentions about metal vesselsintensiv.ely By the discovery of Hittite metal vessels origlnating from Kastamonu, it has been understood that ne« types and styles of Hittite metal vessels may be foond at any time. 2nd.millennium metal vessels of central Anatolia belonging to Assyrian Traöe Colonies Period and later Hitit Period ' were made of gold, sil ver, copper, bronze and lead, it is seen that-casting and hammering techniques «ere used in the metal vessels both periods. Ihe metal vessels whieh are our thesis subject were found in the follg- wing centres of Central Anatolia which covered a vdder area than today, in the second millennium B.C. ; A) Alacahöyük, B) Boğazköy, OFrakdin, D)Konya~- Karahoyük, E)Kültepe and F)Maşathöyük. These metal vessels investigated under two main tipological group in 2nd.millennium B.C. formed 11 type groups in the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period and 4 groups in the Hittite Period. The smiliar Kültepe metal vessels belonging especially the period of Assyrian Trade Colonies are seen in NorthSyria. These types show the cultural relationships in the first quarter of 2nd.millennium B,C,, betweerı this region and the central AnatoHa.The associated material iri Ankara and Kayseri Archeologîcal Museums have been studied and the literatüre has been seanned.-. with the orientation and informatîon of my supervisor and excavator of Kültepe. This study may be source f'or the studies concerning this subject, Moreover the second millennium Central Anatolian vessels can be added to the investigations and researches subjects of Anatolian archeology such as ceramic, ivory, weapons, glyptik and jewellery.
