Özet

Cinsiyete dayalı biyolojik farklılığın insan toplumunun tarih içindeki yolculuğuna paralel olarak yaşadığı sosyal biçimlenme süreci, yani kadınlık ve erkeklik olgularının sosyal ve psikolojik anlamları, toplumsal cinsiyet ve cinsiyete dayalı rol kavramlarını doğurmuştur. Bu rollerin oluşmasında ve korunmasında toplumlardaki kalıpyargılar etkendir. Yaşamı doğrudan etkileyen bu kalıpyargılar ve geleneksel rol algıları günümüzde sosyal teori, politika ve felsefenin yoğunlaştığı en önemli alanlardandır.Özelde kadınların varoluşları ve genelde bütün insanların dengeli bir sosyal hayata geçişi için bu kalıpyargıların ortadan kalkması ya da eşitlikçi bir anlayışla değişmesi gerekmektedir. Eğitim sürecinin bu değişim açısından önemi açıktır. Mesleki ve teknik ortaöğretim kurumlarının erkek ve kız öğrencilerin okul türlerine dağılımında cinsiyet ayrımının belirgin biçimde görüldüğü kurumlar olması değişim ihtiyacını daha da anlamlı kılmaktadır. Bu değişim ise, ancak konuyla ilgili farkındalığın artmasıyla gerçekleşebilir. Söz konusu farkındalığa küçük bir katkı sunmayı amaçlayan bu çalışmada mesleki ve teknik eğitim özelinde öğrencilerin aldıkları cinsiyet rolleri ve bunun sonuçları araştırılmaktadır.Araştırma, 2007-2008 öğretim yılında İstanbul il merkezindeki rastgele seçilmiş mesleki ve teknik orta öğretim kapsamındaki bilişim teknolojileri bölümünde okuyan 300 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ankete katılan öğrencilerin fikirlerini dürüstçe yansıtabilmeleri için kimlik bilgisi içermeyen soru kâğıtları kullanılmıştır. Anketlerden eksik veya hatalı doldurulanlar çıkarılmıştır.Araştırma verilerinin çözümlenmesinde, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) bilgisayar programından yararlanılmıştır. Mesleki ve teknik eğitimde öğrencilerin cinsiyetlerine göre aldıkları rollerle ilgili tutum ve davranışlarının çeşitli değişkenlere göre farklılıkları t testi ve varyans analizi (F testi) ile; anlamlı çıkan varyans analizi sonuçları için, farkın kaynağını bulmak üzere çoklu karşılaştırma testlerinden LSD (the Least Significant Difference) uygulanmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda cinsiyet değişkenine göre erkek öğrencilerin kız öğrencilere göre; okul tipi değişkenine göre ise ticaret meslek lisesi ve endüstri meslek lisesi öğrencilerinin anadolu meslek ve meslek lisesi öğrencilerine göre cinsiyet rollerini daha çok benimsedikleri görülmüştür.

The process of the social formation of sexuality-based biological difference (which occurred as parallel to the historical course of human society), i.e. the social and psychological meanings of manhood and womanhood gave birth to gender and sexuality-based roles. The stereotypes in societies are effective in the formation and maintenance of these roles. These stereotypes and traditional conception of roles are among the most important areas on which social theory, politics and philosophy focuses today.These stereotypes should be eliminated or reformed with an equalitarian outlook in order to provide a balanced social life especially for women and humanity in general. The importance of education process with respect to this change is clear. The fact that the occupational and technical secondary education institutions are the institutions in which the sexual discrimination in the dispersion of male and female students according to the kind of schools is obvious, makes this need of change all the more meaningful. And this change is only possible through raising the awareness about the subject. In this study which aims to make a small contribution to this awareness, the gender roles taken by students and consequences of these are studied within the special context of occupational and technical education.Study is performed on 300 randomly chosen students of information technologies departments of occupational and technical schools at the center of Istanbul in the academic year of 2007-2008. In order to allow students to express their opinions frankly, the question papers without identity data section are used. Incomplete or wrongly filled questionnaires are eliminated.In the analysis of research data a computer program called SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) was used. The difference due to the variables of attitudes and behaviors about the gender roles taken by students in occupational and technical education according to their sexualities are found out by `t? test and analysis of variance (F test) and for the meaningful variant analysis results LSD (the Least Significant Difference), which is one of the multiple comparative tests, is used in order to find out the source of difference.At the end of the research, it is determined that the gender roles are adapted more by male students than female students according to sexuality variant; and that they are adapted more by the students of commerce occupational high schools and industrial occupational high schools than the students of anatolian occupational and occupational high schools according the school type variant.
