Özet

Yerleşim birimleri, toplumsal düzeyde ki sosyo-ekonomik gelişmelerin izlenebilmesine fırsat vermektedir. Bu nedenle illerin sosyal ve ekonomik yapılarının iktisat bilimi tarafından ele alınması bir zorunluluktur. Hatay, tarihte pek çok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış bir ildir. Bundan dolayı, Hatay ili tarihi ve kültürel yönden önemli zenginlikler barındırmaktadır.Hatay ilinin sosyo-ekonomik yapısının ortaya konulmaya çalışıldığı bu çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde bölge ve bölgesel kalkınma kavramları irdelenmeye çalışılmış, bölgesel kalkınma teorilerine değinilmiştir. İkinci Bölüm'de; ilin coğrafi yapısı ile nüfus, eğitim ve sağlık potansiyeli ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü ve son bölümde ise, ilin ekonomik yapısı ayrıntılı olarak incelenmiştir Çalışmada ilin sosyal ve ekonomik yapısı tablolar ve şekiller yardımıyla değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra ilin SWOT analizine yer verilerek, fırsat ve tehlikeler ile güçlü ve zayıf yönleri ortaya konulmuş ve il genelindeki il genelindeki uygun yatırım alanlarına dikkat çekilmiştir.

Allocation units give the chance for tracing the socio-economic developments in the social scale. For this reason, it is essential to approach the social and economic structures of provinces from the view point of the science of economy. Hatay province has hosted countless civilizations throughout history.Therefore, this three-sections-study constitutes an attempt to display the socio-economic structure of this province. İn the first section of the study; an attempt to explicate the concept of region and regional development is made, and theories of regional development are touched upon. In the Second Chapter; in addition to the geographical structure of the province, the potential of population, education and health were searched. The Third Chapter examines economical structure of the Province in detail. In this study it is endeavored to evaluate the social and economic structure of Hatay province with the help of tables and diagrams. In addition to that, chances and threats along with strong and weak aspects of this province are displayed by making the SWOT analysis of it accordingly. Besides that, attention is drawn to the appropriate fields of investments throughout the province.
