Özet
The purpose of this thesis is to compare the two writers, Kemalettin Tuğcu and Charles Dickens, in terms of their points of view in social criticism. Therefore the conceptual definition of Children's and Youth Literature is primarily mentioned in this study. Then as a part of general literature, the reflections of criticism types are dealt with in this concerned field as the main aim of this study. In this study; the common aspects of social criticism in terms of orphan children who are mostly abused, forced to work, and also poor are compared in Kemalettin Tuğcu's ?Satılan Çocuk? and ?Küçük Serseri? and Charles Dickens's ?Great Expectations? and ?Oliver Twist?. So it is necessary to use the methods of positivist, historical and social criticisms in order to compare and contrast the works chosen in this study. The result of this comparative study has showed that the two writers have dealt with the similar points of social criticism in their works although they came from different countries and lived in different periods of time. Thus it has been observed that Kemalettin Tuğcu and Charles Dickens share the same points of social criticism with their similar points of view.

This study has been done in aim to make the transcription and evaluation of 30 numbered file regarding cyprus that is covering the Mutasarrıflık records of Otoman Empire, thanks to this an inestimable inventory has been submitted into gain. Cyprus Mutasarrıflık File Number 30 is in existence at Otoman Archives Office Chairmanship of Turkish Republic Office of Prime Minister, microfilms of them are brought into our university by History Department lecturer Assistant Professor Mehmet Topal. Simple transcription rules are applied during current alphabet notation of the file. In order to accomplish the subject historical past of Cyprus is also placed within the study additionally. File which 205 units of decree are placed in various subjects, gives information relevant with political, social, economic and military aspects. Under light of these informations Executions of Otoman Empire at Cyprus Section and importance of it within the Otoman Empire comes into scene.
