Özet
İsmet Özel, 1960 kuşağı şairlerindendir. 1960'lı yılların ortalarına doğru savunmaya başladığı“sol içerikli”görüşlerini 1971 'den itibaren değiştirerek, müslüman dünya görüşüne bağlanmıştır. Özel, Türkiye'nin 1960 yılından sonra girdiği yeni demokratik ortamın da etkisiyle sol düşünceyi savunmuş; bunu da özellikle şiir ve yazılarında dile getirmiştir. Özel'in kişisel değişimi, Türkiye'nin de yaşadığı değişim süreçleriyle aynı zamana denk düşmektedir. Özel'in kimlik arayışı, ülkenin kimlik arayışıyla ay nı sancıları içermektedir. Marjinal kültürlenme, alt- kültür varlıklarının tepkileri, değişimin“dengesiz”boyutu vd. bu arayışın temel yapı taşları niteliğindedir Türkiye'nin 1950-1990 yılları arasında yaşadığı ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel süreçler, toplumda birçok olumlu-olumsuz tepki biçimleri yaratmış, bu tepkiler giderek kurumsal hale dönüşüp bizzat değişimin yönünü ve boyutlarını etkilemiştir. Toplumdaki altkültür gruplarının özellikle politik anlamda etkin olan kesimleri ise ülkede pek çok sorunun yaşanmasına neden olmuştur. Dengesiz değişim süreci, Türkiye'nin son 40 yılına damgasını vurmuştur. Kültürel yönelimlerin ivmesi de buna koşut bir dengesizlikte sürünce, ortaya sorunsal haline dönüşen bir yığın yapılanma çıkmıştır. Kültürel politikaların resmî (siyasî) ideolojinin etkisi altında sık sık değişmesi ise yalnızca tepkinin oranını arttırmış, varolanı koruma eğilimi, yeni yeni sorunların ortaya çıkmasına yol açmıştır.IV Bu tez, sözkonusu sorunların“tam ortasında”yer alan ve bu değişimi çelişkileriyle yaşayan bir şair ve yazarın, aynı zamanda ülkenin de sorunlarını içeren hayat öyküsünden çok, yaşanan değişimin yarattığı sonuçları yorumlamak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır.

İsmet Özel is one of the 1960s generation poets. As from 1971 he admitted the Islamic World Philosophy by changing his leftist thoughts he had started to defend through the middle of the 1960s. Özel defended the leftist idea with the effect of the new democratic atmospher that Turkey went in after 1960; he also depicted that in his poems and writings. Özel's individual change synchronizes with the change processes Turkey has. Özel's seeking for his own identity carries the same paints with the country's seeking for her identity. Having marginal culture, the reaction of the subcultural elements, the“unbalanced”dimension of the change and so on are the essences of this seeking. The economical, social and cultural processes Turkey had between 1950 and 1990 created various positive and negative reaction forms, these reactions affected the direction and dimension of the change itself by gradually institutionalizing. The subculture groups especially the ones which were active in political sense caused a lot of problems in the country. The unbalanced change process stamped on the last forty years of Turkey. As the acceleration of the cul tural orientation prevailed unbalancedly in parallel with that, a mass structure which turned into the prob lematic had come out. The frequently change of the cultural policies under the official ideology increased only the degree of the reaction and the tendency to protect the existence caused new problems.vi This thesis has been written on the purpose for interpreting the results which this change caused rather than the life story of a poet and writer that is in the middle of the mentioned problems and contains the country's problems at the same time.
