Özet
Bu tezde, Hz. Muhammed'e iman etme açısından Kitap Ehli'nin sorumluluk boyutu konuedilmiştir.Çalışmada, Yahudi ve Hıristiyanların nübüvvete, daha özelde ise Hz. Muhammed'innübüvvetine bakışları tartışılmıştır. Daha sonra Kur'an ve Hadis temelinde, bu temelidestekleyen diğer tarihi unsurlar da dikkate alınarak; Ehl-i Kitabın Hz. Muhammed'e olanimanî sorumluluğu değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca söz konusu sorumluluk, Ehl-i kitabın kendikaynakları açısından da tahlil edilmiştir.

In this thesis, the responsibility of sacred book owners (ahl al kitab) the jews and thecristtions in the belief in Prophet Muhammad is focused on.In this study, the views of the Jews and teh Christians relating prophethood and inparticular to prophethood of Muhammad are examined broadly. Afterwards, the responsibilityof `ahl al kitab? in the belief in Prophet Muhammad is evaluated on the basis of the Quran andthe hadith as well as other historical decument and facts which support these two. Besides,this responsibility has been analysed from the view point of `ahl al kitab?s own sources.
